Not to read between the lines or anything, but for future reference, never take the DJ mag for granted, even if it's out of morbid curiousity.
It's quite a gamble and for the most part, you'll end up dissapointed.

You'd think after ATB's #9 rank, people would have learned by now...

Others have said it, but thinking that DJ Dan was a nobody who got to #5 is laughable. He may not have the up front popularity of the other big boys, but he has been around a long time, and has a solid track record behind him.

there's also the point of the dancefloor being filled with tables and chairs, i don't normally play an interactive set if there's nothing to interact with

dj dan has always played a wicked set every time i see him

he loves to come rock out calgary, the crowds are good here, many djs coming through have mentioned that

Given that every DJ outside the USA is a terrorist, the American voters can only vote for Schulz/Lawrence/DJ Dan/Deep Dish.

Also the DJ Mag is the most accurate system for ranking DJs...ever.

The mere fact that we managed to get Mikey Mike to 110 automatically proves that the DJ Mag poll is absolutely worthless. After seeing his ranking, how anybody can believe in the poll as an accurate representation of musical quality is beyond me.

Right. Going by people's opinions and comments here I've figured :

1. Dan does a decent job as a DJ when on song, and has a wealth of experience behind him (albeit not entirely "global")
2. DJ Mag and all DJ polls are mischevious machinations contrived by satan.

I still think Dan played a shit set on the night, and yes... it's the last time I'll allow morbid fascination get the better of me, rather than common sense and a little research.
I'll go stand in the corner now.
