Until this thread, i hadn't heard anyone use the term 'punk house'.

punk house/new rave is the stupidest classification i've ever heard: they're both the same thing, but unrelated to the names they're given... klaxons are apprently "new rave" (only named as such by NME, despite most people disagreeing with the label)... genre-creation is lame

if anything, this genre should be labelled "indie-electro", or "electro-indie"... those are your choices genre-labellers!!

Punk = attitude towards establishmentism, the clothes worn, the ideals and values (do and say what you want) etc etc, all expressed through the music and the image.

it's not about the clothing gumble... as the ramones said, they didn't wear torn pants cause it was cool, they wore em cause they couldn't afford new ones: punk is about ideology alone: the look and sound etc comes from that...

note: johnny rotten said that ironically, anyone who claims be punk, isn't because a true "punk" is anti-labels... hehe, what a gun

I wasnt saying the clothing makes a punk, its all expressed through that tho. Thats the outward expression of inward ideology.

And yer, punks dont call themselves punk, but they are quite happy for other ppl to call them that.
