if i have time on thursdays i'll try and catch some of the GDJB and ASOT. I enjoy them both but i think GDJB has better music

it doesn't matter though, because the RA Podcast is better than all three combined

what will RA do when they Minimal scene finally implodes on itself ?? I think GDBJ, ASOT, and TATW wont be featured on their uber cool podcast features section.

everyone seems to say gdjb yet compared to asot it has a quarter the amount of posts week in week out in the tracklist section

Posted by The_G0dfather on May-09-2007 20:15:

So what, off course asot is more popular amongst the masses. That doesnt tell you anything about its quality compared to gdjb for example.

Out of those? GDJB. I don't listen as often as I've used to, but I still turn it on every now and then. Markus can provide a good set, and sometimes his guests are on point.

Trance around the world with Above & Beyond.

Posted by Trancefxs on May-10-2007 00:50:

Monthly shows: Global trance grooves (John 00 Fleming) and Progrez (Airwave).

Weekly shows: Sound of Scandinavia (Under Sun).

Don't like any of the three mentioned, I listen to them only if I have nothing better to do.

i know the broadcast doesnt do it, but do any shows voice the tunes at all ??
i always have a hard time keeping up with what track is currently playing but whn the dj says "and this is ... so and so ..."

i heard pvd on vonyc in my car once and he said a few sentences about a producer.
i thought that was great, but marcus never says shit except the same intro/extrop shit.

i don't know, but the last few RA podcasts have been anything but minimal.

the Riton one was awsome synth pop and the Alexander Robotnick was crazy electro

THE 3 shows sucks.i dont see trance in it.

Posted by Philby on May-11-2007 10:53:

global trance grooves!!

Posted by washout on May-11-2007 12:19:

are there any shows where the dj regularly talks a sentence or two about a track/artist ??

i was in my car once and i had vonyc sessions on.
paul mentioned some interesting facts about a producer of a track he just stuck in.
i thought that was great, and id commit to a show that gave that kind of information.
im sure most of you would disagree.
i just know on gdjb, markus never talks outside of the intro/extra and his "global selection" chick.

Tiesto does, albeit in Dutch.

more importantly dont like tiesto.

None of the shows you listed come close to his, though.

GDJB...!!!

But i mainly listen to Automatic Static w/ Icey.....me like the breaks.

Posted by Mr Moss on May-12-2007 03:12:

GDJB is the least boring of the options, if you want to devote yourself to 1 of the 3 i'd pick that one, even if markus is as generic as can be as a MC, he plays a decent mix, sometimes a really decent one. ASOT just gets boring and repetitive and TATW is too limited to anjunabeats songs, its not a good indicator of new/good trance songs, more like a indicator of new anjuna songs.

Hard to say but Tiesto's new show has actually been improving sofar, especially with this week's ep, he changed the name to Club Life last I checked, maybe he should name his restaurant that too lol. Matt Darey and George Acosta have listenable shows too imo.

But personally, the 1 show I try to NEVER miss is Deep Blue Live by Solarstone every 2 weeks, they rotate with Agnelli and Nelson each week. I think its the only show i can just put on and venture into all kinds of unexpected trance for 2 hours.

Metrodance Journey - Martin Garcia
Metrodance Late Night - Guille Quero
Transitions - John Digweed
80 HZ Sessions - Pole Folder

and for the trance people

Aly and Fila - Spiritual Moment
Tillman Uhrmacher - Maximal

February and April 2007 first hour of John OO Fleming. As for the guest mix you may be interested to recover the set of Nicholas Bennison of August 2006.
