GREAT view from upstairs, but some of the VIP areas blow due to being situated behind the speakers. carlos, you know my H-town friends -- it's VIP or nada. i'm down for GA but don't want to thrash about on the floor by myself if everyone's upstairs.

I feel ya. Ok well here's my verdict. I'm going in regular admission. When we get there if you guys decide to go VIP then my friend and I will go ahead and bump it up to VIP. Last time for G&D we sat at the far left of center-stage (upstairs) and the sound wasnt all that great. The tango with Dirk was fantastic though

he played Erotic Discourse in San Francisco, was quite a treat. The whole night was fucking awesome, you guys are in for a good one.

VIP is only 5 bucks more so I'd say it'd be worth it. Sometimes I see VIP almost double the price in which case I'd say no.

I was Vip last week and I didn't even use it haha..

anybody know how much regular tickets are gonna be at the door?

I don't know the technical aspects of the equipment but exactly what is he doing?

Looks like he's routing the channel he is scratching on to the trans effect then adding in some of the color effects. And transforming with the crossfader as well. I used to do it with vinyl and just the trans effect on the old DJM600s.

Fairly simple, but the real trick is having your baby scratch perfect so it sounds nice and stays on beat.

just came back from this thing...and man ALIVE was it sick!! i really really needed an event like this in my system.
i think it started out a little slow, but after zabiela went on, after a couple songs, i was rockin out.
i've got some videos that i absolutely MUST get the titles of, but hopefully they'll be on the cd that i'll buy tomorrow/sunday.
i'll also post the pics...although i couldn't get a good shot.

of the venue: it was the first time i had been to bar rio, i liked it! the only thing was that i feel the sound could have been a little louder (to the point where you can actually feel it...), but besides that, i liked the setup. now with a hopefully increasing crowd in houston, the whole dance floor will be full!

Maybe it was only me and my friend but we thought last night sucked. i wasn't expecting techno for 4 hours. the last 0.5 hr was good cause it was more trancy. a lot of ppl were not dancing. i never felt the music. we actually left at 1:30am unil i realized i forgot to close my tab, then the music was much better so we stayed. james zabiela has great energy behind the decks it's awesome. he is a very good dj, but sometimes too many special sounds and effects ruins it. or i was just expecting trance or some house. last night reminded me of hernan cattaneo at avalon in LA it was aweful. i think that was my first and last one+one party.

to bar rio: what is it gonna take for you to know that when you have a techno club you need to bump up the volume. as a techno clubber, i literally need bass in my face. i am not interested in hearing the ppl behind me talk about whatever. it's amazing the number of people who agree on this statement. and take that huge bar rio houston sign it's very out of place and messes with the nice layout.

dave seaman, you better rock that joint next week.
