From Soma Corp.

Soma Corp regrettably advises that Stable Artist Management have dishonored their booking agreement for Dave Pham with Soma Corp for the Blow Your Own Way event with Robert Babicz LIVE this weekend, due to strong pressure from Hi-Tek Soul management and a number of ultimatums that have been placed against artist Dave Pham regarding his relationship with Hi-Tek Soul and Stable Artist Management. We would like to let it be known that Robert Babicz is one of Dave's favourite artists of all time and he is sincerely and deeply upset about this turn of events, he will be front and centre for Babicz regardless but unfortunately not able to play. Soma Corp hereby expresses our deep disappointment and dissatisfaction with the lack of integrity and professionalism of Stable Artist Management. We also disapprove most vehemently of the tactics and promotion techniques employed on behalf of Hi-Tek Soul management and their promotions team. Effective immediately Soma Corp is terminating any and all business relations with Stable Artist Management in relation to Blow Your Own Way events.

We are extremely excited to announce that in light of these developments, Soma Corp will be adding to the already huge and unrivaled lineup for this night, two of Melbourne's most talented, elite and iconic juggernauts of minimal techno and deep electronica -Gavin Keitel and JP Larue.

We apologise to our loyal supporters for this cancellation that has been completely outside of our control, and have spent over 48 hours trying to reach an amicable solution with those responsible. Rest assured that this will in no way affect our event which is rapidly shaping up to be one of the biggest night's on FFour's calendar and will inevitably be one of the brightest musical highlights of 2007. Limited tickets remain in all outlets.

Get ready to rock... Rob Acid's debut Australian tour is upon us!

Surely this should have been sorted out a little while ago??

Oh well!! Dave Pham for me!!

Not really anything to discuss other than that Dave and I will be up the front giving rave lessons when Babicz is on. It's been too long since he hit the dancefloor anyway imo.

He works too hard.

Gerry will be shattered. He was so happy that Pham was playing at 3/4 international parties on Sunday.

Dropped in early and caught some of Virginia's set which was warming the place up nicely

Intended to return later on for Babicz but time didn't permit

Tell me what I missed?

You missed alot of acid

G and I turned up during Babicz, his set was very interesting. Club was pumping!

Awesome night.. Gav's set was banging and the last DJ was awesome.. I forgot his name.

I love whispering softly in your ear Rysh

Such a great night. Was discussing with a friend in the morning, and we both agreed it was about the equal best live-set both of us had witnessed (equal with Matthew Jonson at Earthcore). Babicz went everywhere, from ambient, to acid, to minimal. It was kind of like variations on a theme at some points as he brought back elements he'd played earlier, and tweaked and layered them.

It was very busy, but i managed to find a spot in the corner to bop away which i did for most of the night. Locals were absolutely spot on also. Slieker put in his standard near-perfect set, Keitel was perfect following up from Babicz (the way he adapts to ever situation is the mark of a class DJ) and the fact that we went until just before 7am proves how good Dallas' closing set was.

Props to those who came and said hello when i was out back in the suite early. The Suite had a great vibe to it all night which was good to see.

Congrats Shane & Somacorp for a fantastic party (and thanks for having me along for the ride). Next stop - Local Extracts #2!!!

FRESH FROM SOMA CORP

Robert Babicz "A Night In Melbourne" released on Treibstoff

Inspired by his time in Melbourne and the sold-out 'Blow Your Own Way' event run by Soma Corp at FFour on Queen's Birthday Eve, Robert Babicz stayed up all night in his hotel room whilst here to write a beautiful new track entitled "A Night In Melbourne" that has just been released on CD (and forthcoming 12") as part of iconic German minimal label Treibstoff Recording's 10th Year Birthday!

Also interviewed in the recent edition of hot German music magazine DVD 'Slices', many have noted that the only poster on the wall in his entire studio is the 'Blow Your Own Way' poster for said event.

Here at Soma Corp we'd like to express our gratitude to Robert for his appreciation, inspiration and sincerity... all the more humbled are we that such a gesture has come from such a legendary figurehead and pioneer as Robert, we have nothing but a world of respect for him - and anyone at the event that night still talks in excited tones of his performance. For those whom like their announcements early, we will be launching Robert's second Australian tour in November 2008 with a planned Melbourne return pencilled for Cup Eve a year from now.

Those interested can hear the track mentioned on Robert's My Space page, purchase the track and/or compilation on CD or 12" from your favourite music retailer over the coming weeks, and a news piece for the Treibstoff release is also included.
