there are actually a couple places in walking distance. we always hit up the convenience store across the park for beers, and then there is a full on liquor store right at the corner of Waverly and 6th Ave.

Hmmm... I'm contemplating going to this. I really want to go out tonight but not sure if I can scrap up the funds. We'll see.

I'm not trying to be rude (yet I'm sure that's how this will be viewed), but that's kind of a dick move. Love doesn't make a killing on cover, it's in a high real estate area, has an amazing sound system that they had to have invested a fortune in and makes its only money from the bar.

If you (and others that do this) love Love as much as you claim, at least kick them some money to help them stay open. It was one thing when people did it at Arc since they didn't have a bar (since it was in a cheap neighborhood), but Love does. Spend some money there and try to help out, even if it's for a $5 water if you're not drinking alcohol. Great

That said, $14 for a Ketel One and Red Bull is absurd and rivals the megaclubs. Everything else isn't that bad from the few things that I drink.

I put myself on the guestlist at Love's web site. Didn't get a reply back. Is the reduced ($5 before 11, $10 before 1am) the same amount?

You got that right!

I went to Love for the first time when Sasha was there a few weeks ago. I definitely love that place. People really should support that place as much as possible. Cheap cover. Spend some money on drinks and have a good time. The drinks are expensive but think about it...if Love was no longer around...where else would you go that has a similar environment and staff? Nowhere.

That other person's comments surprise me. Everyone here is always saying how the scene is dying or changing. Then a venue comes around that looks like it can bring it back and they try and get it for free. It's fucked up. Fucking moochers.
