I'd ignore people who are just idiots. It's simple, really.

Not entirely sure why you started a thread in Music Discussion, and in the COR aswell.

But welcome . Do stick around (minus the swearing).

#5 you aren't cooler than me because you have been on the boards longer
#6 you all are too sensitive and take things way too literal
#7 I was just trying to find people to have conversations about EDM music because no one where I live listen to it.... but is it even worth trying

fucking aye

dont shut me out because i dont know as much as you
damnit thats why i came to the message boards

.......BUAHHHAAHAAHHAHAHAAAHHAAHHAH, aww man i miss the times i was like this...... #3 and edm music just made my day BUAHHAHAHAAHAH, ahhh geeez, hey no worries we were all like you at some point, dont get mad at us we just dont like noobs who act like they know much, do stick around tho, im sure you will learn a lot

Posted by Redd on May-20-2007 21:33:

well after that post things are bound to get interesting.

If you came to these boards to "know as much as us" as you claim, why do you blatantly refuse to adopt the fact that techno is sub-genre of EDM? That's like most of the newbies first lesson here. (especially US ones)

And no, most of us are not generally overly friendly here, but very entertaining and sometimes even enlightening

yeh you can have a pretty damn good conversation about edm music with most of us.........BUAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAH ahh man, i gotta stop picking on the girl, but redd is right if you expect to learn anything here YOU have to get over the fact that you are retarded by saying it's all the same thing, if there one thing we all have in common is that we love edm and if you keep calling it techno you keep offending us and you keep making a foool out of yourself. GET OVER IT!

You don't get it, do you? It's like calling all hiphop "g-funk" or all classical music "baroque". Why would anyone do that?

Exactly, who the fuck cares, so why did you tell us?

Posted by crazxystaczy on May-21-2007 20:04:

Okay okay
lesson #1 learned:
Never ever call edm techno

About me:
When I hear EDM it makes me feel like I am in the right place. I have never, ever felt that in my entire life. When I listen I just cannot help but dance FOR HOURS AND HOURS. Plus I love music that trips me out. I am really ADD and have got a lot of energy. I got actually into edm from the system on XM... I started to listen to Armin Van Buurens show and was instantly hooked.
I saw him in Dallas about a month ago.
Like I have said... I do not know very much so please do enlighten me.

Hmmm yep.

couple of rules in trance:
1. never tell an EDM-head that trance is dead. it's very disrespectful because it's not dead. its far from dead. in fact:
quote:
Trance is the fastest growing music of the past decade and still booming all over the world. -DJ Magazine December2007

quote:
Trance will never die. -MixMag April 1997

if that isn't evidence enough, just look at the front page for Trance.nu
quote:
Trance rules -trance.nu

2. just like the democratic and republican parties, never agree with our opposing army, the fans of House. They ripped off our music and they know it. They wish they knew how to dance as well. Disco is dead. (hard house is the exception because it is scientifically 80% trance with the kick to 20% house with the groove)

3. DJ Tiesto is the worlds best DJ. He is also the world best producer because the money he rakes in from DJing is put into hardware for his productions. Ever heard of the $10,000,000 song? I don't think it exists, but if it did, it would probably be hella badass. Tiesto will do it one day. It will pretty much be Flight 642 multiplied by 15552.10 (should equal 10,000,000)

4. Paul Van Dyk loves money (i think)

there's a certain list that comes out every year with the numbers 1 through 100 on it. I don't want to have to pull it out of my wallet and type it out for you. let's just agree that I'm correct that Tiesto is #1 forever (and probably in other alternate timelines as well)

Posted by Project-K on May-21-2007 21:07:

You mean DJ mag's 100 shittiest DJs list? I'm afraid he got knocked down from his top spot on that one.

Posted by Ted Promo on May-21-2007 21:12:

trance is so pass.

Since you don't seem like an alt only here to rile up people, I'll be glad to help you.

Though it's not bloody likely you'll read it

First of all, your initial post is a little vague. You like trance? Cool. Starting a thread on a board with going on 80,000 members on a forum (supposedly) trance-oriented, you'd have to guess there have been many threads stating simply that the person likes trance, so really, who cares, what's the point?

What you should do is find artists and songs you currently like and find more artists like them. Peruse on your own before starting multiple vague threads. Music is personal exploration as clich and cheesy as it sounds. Suggestions are nice, but it's much better to find things on your own.

If you really like a certain something, it's okay every now and then to start a thread asking people to suggest songs similar to the one(s) you like. You should probably search though before starting a thread like "recommend me some depressing vocal trance tunes".

Basically, the rule you should follow is browse browse browse! We're jaded here because many people don't do that. I have learned so much from this site by just simply browsing threads and looking into things rather than asking stupid and vague questions. Just feel free to chime in if you have actual legitimate and intelligent discourse (this is not applicable to the Chill Out Room).

Finally, don't take things here seriously. If we call you a pile of busted cunt tupperware containers, it's probably because you're acting accordingly.
