Good for Sean, he deserves all the success he gets.

Most of the kids (and I mean kids) on TA that diss him are jealous which makes their comments irrelevant in my eyes..

What do you base that claim on? Jealous of what, exactly?

I really wouldn't have expected much different to come from you, it's a typical producers/djs sticking up for each other cause.

Just since you (and many others) don't seem to get it, here goes.

(thanks to dictionary.com)

jeal·ous·y /ˈdʒɛləsi/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[jel-uh-see] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
–noun, plural -ous·ies for 4.
1. jealous resentment against a rival, a person enjoying success or advantage, etc., or against another's success or advantage itself.

Now we're not actually jealous. The majority of us who're "kids" to you have been into music for a long long time and Sean for example (and richard durand as another) is coming along and being licensed to make a cheap buck off someone elses work. It's not just 1 or 2 tracks, it must be getting close to twenty.

What we're actually thinking is...

dis·gust /dɪsˈgʌst, dɪˈskʌst/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[dis-guhst, di-skuhst] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
–verb (used with object)
4. repugnance caused by something offensive

ok. we've supported djs & producers for countless years. We're now seeing their work be given a quick makeover by people and they're idolised for it. Check out ASOT for example, you can pretty much see one new remake a week, maybe more. It's degrading to the people who spent all their time & energy coming up with original & good ideas and putting them into place.

Now if you can't distinguish between the two, I suggest you stop taking cocaine up your rectum and realise that a dj or producer is only as good as a) their work but more importantly, b) the people who buy it. Most people seem to forget that.

as for the reworks...

i have never heard a sean tyas rework (or at least that i know of)but if he's remaking tracks because he likes those tracks and wants to make it his own then fine

as a musician, i love covering other songs and adding elements i want to add in the song. i like putting the song into my own perspective. i don't do it just for bullshit.

HOWEVER, if he's just making reworks of classic songs just for money then i don't agree with it at all. and it's even worse if they all supposedly sound the same. i don't know what his background is or all of the tracks he has created and reworked so i can't say too much. i gotta do my "research".

if the latter is the case with him, then i can see why people dislike all those reworks.

Regardless of your fantastic word definition skills (as good as a secretary), most of the Sean Tyas bashing is a result of good old fashion jealousy. It seems to be the "In Thing" to abuse him on TA which is unfortunate as he is successful at doing what he truly loves to do and is blowing up at a substantial rate because of it. He is one of many many producers that are doing reworks at the moment. So why focus on just Sean? I can list hundreds of remakes form all kinds of artists.

By the way, never did cocaine before, jackass.

well i wouldn't say all of the sean haters are jealous. i think that is being too general. yeah i know there are a lot of bashings and bandwagon like and dislikes on here but i doubt that the main culprit is jealousy.

exactly, the main culprit is people not liking the fact that shit music dominates the trance scene ;/

well, since we're "tranceaddict" then I guess the people remaking trance get the attention, and since sean, richard durand etc are both close to major dj's (armin & tijs) then obviously they're going to be focussed on more so. I still fail to see the jealousy factor though as I see a difference between dislike & jealousy. I think that in many ways trance & the internet has accumulated into a place where everyone likes to pat everyone elses back, infact many websites are very much like that. We've always been a bit different simply because we've often praised stuff that isn't getting the attention it deserves and are not afraid to pose the harder questions. I'd love for us to interview sean (i've said so before) and actually give him a chance to respond to the constructive criticisms being aimed at him. It'd really show some balls to come out in an interview where the questons don't just revolve around praise & asking him what he eats etc.

As for the drug thing, I was just trying to find out how you seemed to be talking out of your arse, don't take it personally

No. People need to stop using this as an argument. Also, your pigeonholing of all the 'haters' as kids is even more laughable. I'm waiting for the 'You've never been to a club' line. Get over yourself.

I really can't say I expected any more of an articulate reply than that.

Why would I be jealous of someone I am excessively more successful than?

Zzzzzzz

Guys, guys, guys... let's all just cool out.

Victor's probably still just reeling from the fauxhawks decline in popularity.

Give it time guys, give it some time.

Nobody here is jealous. Do I want to be world-famous? No. Do I want to be a household name? No. Do I want to spin on ASOT, alongside Armin, or in arenas with 15,000+ people? No. Do I want to be known for simply re-working other artists works and bastardizing old classics with barely anything new added to them? No. Am I perfectly content having only one gig under my belt and just spinning in my bedroom? You bet your ass.

I think that is the stupidest argument that one could use in defense of a DJ. Nobody is jealous, they're just tired of listening to bullshit.

And we do the same thing for those artists, too. Look at the Richard Durand threads, look at the old Tek^Tonik threads, look at the random threads that pop up for all of the other ass random artists that create absolutely shoddy remakes.

I guess my main question is...

Why should we be jealous towards someone who has made a career out of making re-work after re-work, all-the-while being extremely non-creative with them and adding nothing to what was already perfect?
