Burma is the new Vietnam?

Looks like they just keep shooting the same jungle footage and then substitute the appropriate 3rd world villainous enemy.

Seriously doesn't he ever get tired of playing Rocky/Rambo?

That's what makes him money.

its got to be more than that I'm sure he has more than enough money in the bank to turn down these remakes.

For his next installment in the Rambo series, he should go to Iraq to help us with that failed war. Never underestimate the power of a disgruntled Vietnam vet.

true. He's got the Planet Hollywood franchise, and was involved with The Contender, and other projects.

I had no idea a new movie was coming out, I thought you'd dug up the trailer for the first movie and I was going "woah, never realised it was so gruesome!" lol.

Posted by Danny Ocean on May-20-2007 23:10:

i think he remakes them to redeem how cheesy they used to be. good, but cheesy.

Posted by Boomer187 on May-21-2007 13:45:

there better not be expensive special effects. Hopefully they wasted most of theri budget on blood and a clean up crew for the blood.

but man, looks like they went the bloodest movie ever route I love it!

I mean Stallone is old and even though his shape is great for his age, enough is enough. This is a download movie only as it be a waste of time seeing it at the movies. The prior Rambo movies were pretty good, but this one is too much a gore-fest with the overindulgence of blood and guts flying everywhere. We'll see when it comes out, but I suspect they've ruined a potentially good story of an aging worrier with too much b-movie aspects.

nah foo.. they goin back to the vibe of "First Blood." which was raw & gorey.. part 2 is when it went the hollywood james cameron route with less gore and more explosions. i do like pt 2 but the original has depth . this one looks like a combination of the 2, note i didnt bring up 3 at all..lol

thats just cos of the growth hormones and other drugs he uses

Posted by DigitalPhoenix on May-21-2007 14:22:

shit's raw...I'd see it on the big screen..

Posted by Rinster on May-21-2007 14:26:

i thought rocky balboa was his last movie?!

anyway head chopping and gore just doesnt fit for stallone imo.

I'm more talking about the gore aspect of the trailer. When you see blood purposely spitting out or when the the guy's stomach splitting open, etc, this is excessive and over the top compared to the other Rambo's. They knew they would attract the viewers with the "Saw" gratuity aspect of what is now become norm in movies. Violence with ppl being literally torn apart on the big screen is Hollywood's' newest vice. Personally I think it's sad that this is what's now needed to attract an audience.

Mark my words, I think the old gladiator days are not too far around the corner.

I don't know... In Rambo III, he cauterized his own wound with gunpowder from a bullet.

i respect your opinion but i dont think they went the gore route to attract "saw" type of audiences. in reality, lot of ppl who will be going to see this will be the oldschool rambo fans. you talk about B-movie aspects, well like i said i think its bringing much more of the vibe from the original, which had played like a b-movie, until the end where few things blow up.

Like when he makes that trap out of sticks and a cop sets it off and it goes into his thighs!

is there a science to how bullets make your head explode?

i think your head can explode if you get hit with a .50 caliber round.

Posted by Sunsnail on Sep-08-2007 06:17:

You guys underestimate guns. If you put a gun against someone's head, even armed with blanks, the explosive gases will blow up the guys head

i think explode is like when you shoot a watermelon... and it explodes. a hole does not form on it.

i think it depends on the object, a watermelon is what 95% water? where as a human head has a skull made of bone, muscle, tissue, flesh. its alot thicker and can stand more of an impact, and thats probally why it doesnt explode unless ur using a high caliber bullet or explosive rounds.
