I wish I could mix as good as now...

Guy has defined a new model for djs to follow, that of a respected manager and energetic performer. He is one of the premier DJs on the circuit and has a fifteen year career helping artists achieve their goals. The story begins shortly after leaving school, Guys first job was working at a specialist record shop based in London. After a year he landed a job in the press office for Warner Brothers and Virgin where he worked for two years. At 21 he had a break and set up the DMC offices in New York. There he started the series "United Djs Of America" showcasing talent such as Kimbal Collins, Josh Wink, Louie Vega, David Morales and Frankie Knuckles. In 1997 Guy left DMC and returned to the UK where he translated his experience into the formation of Ornadel Management and most recently the DJ Agency - Mainstage Artists, the UK's bespoke dance music management agency. Guys management experience has encompassed working with such luminaries as Sasha, Steve Lawler, and Sander Kleinenberg. At present Guy manages the likes of Gabriel & Dresden , Pete Heller, Second Sun and Mark Eteson. Guys addiction to DJing stemmed from building a record collection at the age of 17. He became hooked listening to pirate radio shows spending all his time hunting tracks that could only be found in a few specialist shops. Fifteen years later and hes still hooked. As an international DJ, Guy has rocked dance floors all around the world from the main room at Cream, Ibiza to touring the clubs in Australia, Japan, Canada and America. In England Guy has regularly appeared at all the major Dance Festivals including Homelands, Gatecrasher, Creamfields and Global Gathering. In 1999 Guy released his debut DJ mix CD which was part of the License To Thrill series. In February 2000, he released a compilation on Slinky. It was Slinkys first release, lifting Guys and the clubs great acclaim. The prestigious mixes, structure and co-ordination of tracks made the CD a must for anyone who appreciates quality dance music. This past year has proved a busy one for Guy, with a full management roster to work, a hectic international schedule, a focus on breaking new artists, his Ministry Of Sound Radio show, oh and least we forget.....what the passions all about rocking dancefloors throughout the world! Voted 43 in DJ poll 2004.

Dit Week End guest is Noel Sanger
Armada, Baroque, Curvve
http://www.noelsanger.com/
Since the early days of the US rave scene, to the more sophisticated clubbing of the new millennium, Noel Sanger has stood among his peers as one of North Americas finest electronic exports. His massive discography spans a decade and has surpassed 150 released productions appearing on 30 plus record labels in more than a dozen countries, with consistent support from pa diverse array of practically any A-list DJ you can name. Having escaped household and brand-name status, Noel might be the best kept secret in dance music, although his substantial contributions to global dance culture have been acknowledged repeatedly by the industrys elite.
One such acknowledgment came at the start of 2006, when no less than electronic music's foremost virtuoso, BT, personally hired Noel as a programmer on his collaborations with Dutch Superstar, Tiesto, now released on Tiesto's Element's of Life CD. Noel spent a month in Los Angeles, working side by-side with the two producers in BT's studio, contributing significantly to the outcome of the project.
His five nationally (US) released DJ mixes have all met with enthusiastic critical acclaim; the most recent of those, Summerbreeze 2, is widely regarded as one of the best mix comps of 2002/2003. He has remixed tracks from artists such as Lustral, Flash Brothers, Delerium, DJ Hyper, BT, PQM, Jan Johnston, and dozens of others, and over the years his works have appeared on top dance labels like Armada, Baroque, Curvve, Electrofly, Perfecto, Solaris, Release, Institution, Nettwerk, Acetate Ltd., Musicnow, Limbo, Additive and Sunkissed as well as majors like Sony UK, Universal US, and more. His original releases have always met with similar critical acclaim, leaving many an empty space on record shop walls around the world.
From Santo Domingo to Vancouver, Guadalajara to Ottawa, he has criss-crossed the continent time and again, bringing his unique style of forward-thinking dance music to some of the worlds best clubs, and to the worlds best crowds. From 2001 to 2003 he toured with DJ Tiesto several times, most recently accompanying the superstar DJ on the Sony Playstation 2 Dual Play Tour through 14 American cities. The world seems to have taken note-Noels first global touring began Summer 2003 in Japan, and spread to South America that Fall. He's maintained a rigorous schedule of releases, tour dates and studio work ever since, even teaching production techniques for two years part time at the world's foremost recording arts program, Full Sail in Orlando, Florida.
His modest musical beginnings laid the groundwork for the steady consistency which has characterized his career. At age eight he wrote his first full songs; at age 13 he picked up his first guitar; in high school he studied music theory, along with jazz and classical music. He played in various metal and punk bands throughout these years until, in 1990, he was converted to the electronic religion of house and techno while working as a radio presenter at a Naples, FL dance music radio station. From there he began to DJ and produce music, building a small but devoted following for the underground in the tourist town which he called home. By late 1994 he felt it was time to move on, and set up shop in nearby Miami. Immediately he began doing guest spots in South Florida's best venues, and in less than two years had played often at such notable
spaces as The Edge, Groove Jet, Warsaw, Bash, Amnesia, as well as innumerable one-offs and raves. By day he worked for the well known house label E-sa records, playing a crucial role in launching their successful OX imprint. When, in mid1996, studio demands became too heavy to continue with the label, he devoted himself to producing, DJ'ing, and songwriting full time.
In 1997 he teamed up with vocalist Nicole Henry, who had been featured on a number of his internationally licensed productions, to create a live PA which many feel helped raise the bar for live electronic music in the American rave scene. The electrifying performances, which featured Noels emotive guitar, live keyboards and percussion paired with Nicoles soulful vocals, took them throughout the US for over two years and nearly 80 shows. It culminated in a headline spot on the 20 city 1999 ESDJCO North American tour. Shortly thereafter, the Sanger live PA was shelved in order to focus more attention on his DJing, which in turn led to a series of three mix comps in less than one year, which, taken together, sold nearly 100,000 copies. It was during this time that he was approached by Nettwerk Management (Sara McLachlan, Coldplay, Avril Lavigne, Sum 41, etc.) to be only the second DJ signed to their DJ management roster, after Tiesto.
Since then, it's been strength to strength for Noel. His music is getting more attention than ever, with recent releases seeing play from Judge Jules (BBC Radio One and International Show), Armin Van Buuren (A State Of Trance), Markus Schulz (Global DJ Broadcast),Matt Darey, Paul Oakenfold, Tiesto, and a unspeakably long list of DJ's at clubs and festivals around the globe. His touring, production and remix commitments persist in intensity, and the Summer of 2007 will see his first ever tour dates in Europe, the debut of a monthly radio show on XM and Worldspace, as well as a weekly show available for syndication, the long-overdue launch of his own Dissident Music imprint, several new collaborative projects and a slew of original releases.
Having left Nettwerk in 2004, Noel came full-circle In 2006, joining forces with long-time ally and friend, Mark Walker, who first released his music on (and employed him at) E-sa records in Miami some 13 years ago. Noel is now the first managed artist on Mark's new Strange World Entertainment roster. Of the change he says, I feel honored to have been with a company like Nettwerk, but the time came to move forward. I'm now extremely blessed to have someone like Mark in my corner, who has been there with me since the start, believes fully in my music and my vision, and has an industry CV that's second to none. In addition, Noel's bookings will now be handled worldwide by the brand-new Blushtonic agency in Washington DC, founded by former Yoshitoshi label manager, Stefania Yanachkov.
With the buzz and novelty of an exciting new artist yet the history of one whose first release came over twelve years ago, Noel has a unique and unstoppable momentum. He has only just begun to deliver on the promise of his careers first decade. One can only imagine what he will do with his second.

This week the show will feature Gabriel & Dresden as Guest Dj's
Gabriel & Dresden start off 2004 with a total of eight #1 Billboard Club Play Chart Remixes, a #11 UK Pop Chart Hit As the Rush Comes as members and producers of Motorcycle, and three Dance Star Award nominations for Best Producer, Best Single, and Best Break Through DJ. In addition, the duo is busy producing their debut mix CD, which will be released on Nettwerk Records this Spring.
Gabriel & Dresden met at the Winter Music Conference in 2001, when Josh Gabriel was giving out the white label of his first track Wave 3 and Dave Dresden was scouting new music for Pete Tong. Dresden loved the track, and two weeks later it got played on Tongs BBC Radio 1 show. Tong soon offered Dresden the opportunity to remix New Orders track, Someone Like You and Gabriel was tapped to work on the remix.
Three years later the duo have produced 33 remixes, 2 original tracks, and have a world wide hit as Motorcycle with vocalist JES. Dresden also produces under the name Attention Deficit, and Gabriel writes and produces his own tracks, and has had two acclaimed singles as a producer and member of the group, Andain.
Both Gabriel and Dresden have been involved in music since they started their professional careers. Gabriel began writing and producing music after getting his first synthesizer in 1981. He eventually incorporated the computer into his music making with the addition of his trusty Mac Plus. Gabriel obtained a BFA degree in composition from California Institute of the Arts University and studied at the Institute of Sonology in Den Hague, The Netherlands. He then worked in various post-production studios, on projects for clients such as Sony, Disney, Sega and Oddworld.
Gabriel moved on to create Mixman music software and acted as co-founder of the company Mixman Technologies Inc. for 8 years. Dresdens impressive career includes DJing for the past 15 years, while holding various high profile music industry jobs such as writer for artist interviews and music reviews, and driving A&R for Promo Only. Dresden has compiled mix CDs and compilations for several record labels, scouted for Pete Tong, has been a radio DJ and music director for both Internet and radio stations with a world wide listening base.
The duo live and produce in San Francisco, California.

Deze week in de show, onze guest is Richard Durand (aka G spott).
Playing all over the globe, Dutchman Richard Durand has slowly established himself as one of the big names in the Trance scene. His first release Make Me Scream was one of the biggest club hits in 2005. His famous remixes of Tistos tracks Lethal Industry and Flight 643 where released worldwide. Next to that Richard Durand was recommended by Tisto in the DJ Mag Top 100 voting, as new big talent!
Most people only know this Amsterdam resident DJ under his alias. He was born in 1976 and since a very young age he has been active in music. Ever since he was a little boy he played the piano. His musical youth is a great fundament for the profession what hes doing nowadays. At this point Richard Durand produces various styles of dance music and is performing as a DJ all over the world.
He likes to play the small venues because that way it's possible to keep in close touch with the audience. However he also loves to play at the big festivals, because it gives him tremendous pleasure to move big crowds. You can find Richard Durand performing everywhere.
His record "Make Me Scream" is the first production which was released under his own name Richard Durand. Make Me Scream became a huge hit, and was playlisted on the BBC Radio 1 radio show of Pete Tong and also for 4 weeks in a row at the radio show of Judge Jules. For several months Make me Scream worked wonders on the dancefloor by big jocks like: Tisto, Ferry Corsten, Johan Gielen, Rank 1, Ronald van Gelderen, Graham Gold, Les Hemstock, Loukas Pour-Hashemi, Colin Sales, Organ Donors, Choose, Michael H, Nomad, Laidback Luke (with his own edit) and many others. Make me Scream resulted as one of the popular hits in the Trance Scene of 2005.
In December 2006 Richard Durand released, like Trance.nu says, another Superb release: Slippin Away on Hollands Terminal 4 records. This record completes a techy sounding Ronald Van Gelderen remix and the vocals of famous singer Anita Kelsey. Again a hit from the top shelve. Slippin Away is a favourite play of jocks like: Paul van Dijk, Tisto, Armin van Buuren and Judge Jules. Also the reviews on Trance.nu and DJ Mag are with full support.
Which started with a bootleg, turned out in a world famous remix. Besides his own productions, Richard Durand also found some time to lay his hands on two of the biggest hits made by the world famous Tisto. Both remixes of Lethal industry and Flight 643 positioned #1 at the Dutch Dance Charts and are still played out by all the big jocks.
Next to his official releases, at the beginning of 2007 Richard Durand also brought out two downloadable tracks such as Inside My Brain and Any Time. Both tracks became top 10 in the Dutch Download charts and where favourite play outs from jocks such as: Tisto, Eddy Halliwell, Matt Darey, Preach, Mark Etteson .
April 13th Richard Durand has his first UK debut at Turnmills London. One of the big highlights of the night will be the release of his new record For The Believers 2.0, one of the first records of a three series E.P. The E.P. series will contain different releases and a bonus track Sunhump 2006, which was only released earlier as a download.
With a very hectic DJ schedule playing in countries such as Scotland, Estonia, Poland, Switzerland, and with a two week tour planned in Australia in June; Richard Durand is on fire.
