vancouver is 500,000 and greater van is 2.2 mil
Winnipeg is 633,000 (bigger than vancouver proper)

um yeha you completely backed up my point there mister.

as i was saying we dont have the greater area to support it

also i know the NHL itself doesnt want the team to be up in canada

but the further southt they push the more money will be lost

people in th south states jsut dont care about hockey and they never will they got there basketball and football too watch... its kinna like this big soccer rush they are trying to push

it might be good for a year or two but then it will die ...
you cant just force a new sport into an area that already has enough of them..

winnipeg is a great city and the support would be there i mena look at the juniors in north dakota 2 years ago.. i mean the whoel arena was all people from manitoba.,

regardless the size is an issue... but i dont know how teams like atlanta survive, i mena they must average less that 6000 a game when you look in the crowd all you see is empty seats

but I was saying that qouting a city's population not including it's greater area or metro size is irrelevant

ie 'winnipeg is bigger than seattle as a city' which you said...meaningless

I read a bunch on it and from what I understand is he is not allowed to move the team for seven years. But there exists a loophole whereby if attendance is low enough, and the nhl deems the ownership to have tried everything in Nashville, then and only then will they allow a move before that seven years. It was the same for his proposal to buy the Penguins.
Next year he can try to force the city of Nashville to purchase the unbought tickets, and if they refuse, the following year he can move...or something like that

yeah thats pretty much it.
