Thx for listening, i'll cut some kick and crisp some bass

yeah, dont mind a psyhead like me, by saying there was hardly any bass i ment that in the middle region of the spectrum theres hardly any activity going on, as off bass bass, there is shit load of it, but i dont think it simply qualifies for psy genre, again, i was tripping out to your beggining, its something else, i really felt like i was in the forest beside a pond, it really sounds like nature.

pretty good track, i think it will go along well with speactra's track as intro, and this one introduced right after, seriously

i am thinking ppl here are going to split into two categories happy/crazy and dark/trippy

I love the bass line mate Sounds good so far, look forward to hearing the final version

Goodies!

Xeno ... very sweet track! I really dig it. Some of the elements are still very loud in the mix and push away the kick a little, if you'd like to fix this... I consider your track included.
Speactra ... great stuff! No complaints from my side, would love to hear the final version of this tune!
MegaMan ... same goes for you! Nice bassline, I hope you get this baby finished

Posted by Subtle on Jun-07-2007 19:07:

This a sample of my track, 95% finished. And lets just say i spended just as much time writing the first 90 as the last 5 percent.

Subtrenix - Psychlonism (Proto Mix Sample)

Probably will turn out shit

Posted by MegaMan on Jun-07-2007 19:37:

sounds legit m8 i dig your vibes

Posted by Drik on Jun-07-2007 19:46:

PS, mine will be heavily influensed by Infected Mushroom

Posted by thoughtlessjex on Jun-07-2007 21:52:

Just stopping in to say I've got an updated version here. Boosted the highs and beefed up the upper mids. I also added a little effect in the middle to spice it up. Enjoy.

jex - Disappear

i hear superb sound, let me ask you m8, are you using any kind of reference monitors?

Unfortunately, all I have is my Best Buy Stereo and a pair of Bose noise cancelling head phones. I do feel like the Bose are good because the bass is incredibly clean, but I'd love to have a pair of real monitors.

Posted by MegaMan on Jun-08-2007 02:18:

well.. the reason why i asked if you have monitors is because it sounds clean and crisp, so i thought you must have something.. i spotted one thing tho, there is not much activity going on at 20-40hz, in other words that pure bass, not like it is a bad thing, its just that you could of filled it so that people can feel the kick more, but then again if you feel it, other elements may and will become distorted, if it was me, id give that extra bandwith to the kick, but that may vary on your kick, maybe it does not carry frequencies from low regions, would be interesting to play with it and replace that kick with other kicks, just to see if its any better or worse, what are you using btw? as a sequencer

p.s. i think this kick had been designed for psy and they tend to be especially active in the middle region of the sound spectrum, so that i may be in fact correct, that considering alternative kicks would not only benefit overall sound but mix as well, try and see for yourself

Posted by cybernetica on Jun-08-2007 02:28:

Jex, this sounds great now! Good improvements made!

Subtle, awesome so far, although I would not call this too Infected Mushroom -ish, rather Astral Projection. Oh, I cant wait to hear the full version of this

Just to give you a first impression of my tune I am constructing for this mix:

Enjoy!

here is something else i was able to pull out, unlike "glacial" its a happy choon, again, not much, its only like 10 hour worth of work, just listen and tell me if it has drive to it

p.s. cyber, great rhythm, i like overall flow, dark and trippy, at the same time when those synths hit, i felt like i was in egypt, i also think your bass is great.

Posted by thoughtlessjex on Jun-08-2007 02:50:

MegaMan: In Disappear, I use FLStudio as my sequencer, with Synth1, Tweakbench Pressure, and AR Bassline. If you can't tell by now, I haven't more than a few bucks to my name. :-/

Cyber: Damn, is that Goa I'm hearing? Excellent stuff.

Posted by MegaMan on Jun-08-2007 02:55:

more than few bucks to your name

That is to say, if it weren't for my parents paying my way through college, I'd be broke.

Awesome stuff Cybernetica

Ok, not too much Infected Mushroom then,
What I want to have is a psy theme track, ie all elements are psy, goa style leads, stuff like that, but at the same time I want to have a bit of classical dark style choire/orchestra thrown in with a energetic lead following that, would that be ok you think?

I managed to get the bubbly kick and punchy saw bassline down yesterday, having a blast so far

It's funny, I haven't touched music in like 2 months, but this got me going straight away

The important thing is that you know your monitoring equipment.
I have a pair of genelecs 8040, but I still use my cheap headphones 90% of the time since thats what I'm used to, then I switch to the monitors for small tweaking.
