first time i heard sandstorm i thought it sounded alright till it hit the aiwaves. i think thats how it goes, the song is decent until it is thrown onto radio
more cheese
I used to think sandstorm was kind of cool, like the first time I heard it I like the tune and such. I guess what's annoying to me is the fact that 'dances' at my highschool play 95% hip hop then about 3 techno songs, 1. Sandstorm 2. Alice Deejay - Better off alone and 3. MAYBE 'Vengaboys - We like to party'. All of these songs I used to like, but the fact that those are the chosen songs that represent techno as far as non-techno listeners are concerned is annoying, plus they are severely overplayed...it's not like those are the only popp-ey techno songs that non-listeners would liek, either...to add more variety to the same type of song why don't they discover Aurora - Ordinary World (above and beyond mix)??? It's better than those others and still on the dance end of the techno...

Guys, you gotta start seeing the difference between Cheese and Commercial. Commercial is simply every tune that is friendly and all the things U've said before... Cheese, for me, is a commercial track that hasn't been put enuff effort into.
I really hate it when ppl get so proud of their "Underground taste" of music and dismiss anything commercial...
There've been enuff threads to this, hope everyone got the point.
As answering to the question, some tracks are instrumental and are COMMERCIAL:
Yahel - Voyage (Some of you might say it's simply good but over here it's usually played just because it's a huge hit)
Cosmic Gate stuff (Mostly Melt to the Ocean, Exploration of Space and Back to Earth... Same as above)
Well a lot of Anthem Trance...
How about Storm - Time to Burn? Cheese or not cheese?
I loved that tune... But then I wasn't as much into trance as i am now
Edit: I was thinking about this 'cause it was very popular in the mainstream here in Iceland
hmmm
we have forgotten...ppk- ressurection....catchy melody...thats about it...and the mainstream embraces it....people whistle to it???wtf!

I think it's reasonably safe to classify Aqua "Barbie Girl" as cheese, and I'm sure nobody in TA would disagree with me about that one.

great sig.sporttrance.u got any pic that show her pussy?
i think it's stupid to define cheese and stay inbound those definitions. if you really like the track, but someone (or most) says it's cheese, what, you'll stop listening to it? if yes, than i feel sorry for you.
p.s. darude is not cheese, nor is resurection. those are great tracks, which went massive. they (like thousands of other tracks which were labeled with that stupid word "cheese") were thought out not for the sake of getting as much money with the sales as they can, but with the heart and soul of the artist put into it. and it really pisses me off when some upstyle wankers say "ok, that track is sooooo cheeese" just because media say so.
peace out.

the problem is that when u hear a track on the radio like 5 gazillion times, it just get boring. with all the cool Radio DJ's out there.. it gets dragged into the dirt.. - i better stop now, before i start ranting on and on
yeah, agreed. but that doesn't make the track CHEEZY, it makes it OVERPLAYED. feel the difference?
cheezy (produced with the word "mo money" in mind):
ian van dahl - castles in the sky
fragma - say that you are here
thousands of other cliche trance tracks
overplayed(produced so excellently that they were even accepted by the mainstream):
darude - sandstorm
iio - rapture
ppk - resurrection
and thousands of others overplayed, but still great.
