I fail to see how 20 very drunk (evidently) Indians constitutes the general populaces opinion of America or the Governments.

Are the Russians really this stupid or are they just looking for a reason to build some new nukes? The ABM system is designed to intercept a single missile with one warhead, and test results have not always been that great. It cannot, nor was it designed to, intercept even the existing Russian MIRVed ICBMs, much less any new ones.

Every time I look at the news there is some new comment by a Russian government official about the ABM system. The Russians have not acted this irrationally about the capabilities of a weapon system since Reagan first spoke the words "Star Wars". How exactly would a couple dozen ABM interceptors be a threat against a couple thousand Russian warheads?

Tell me why America was so scared when Russia wanted to placed missiles on Cuba?

Because once the Star Wars system becomes more successful or these interceptor missiles will really work (and US plans to place more of them all around Russia), then USA can take a first annihilating shot at Russia and the few dozens Russian strategic missiles that would survive the initial attack would then mostly be knocked out by these interceptor missile bases that look so innocent right now. Its that simple.

Well, Einstein, do some research as to what the interceptor missiles are for ... And then look at Iran and tell me how many missiles they have right now that can even reach that far into Europe. What makes more sense - a missile defense shield that is built to protect against an imaginary attack that can probably never materialize because it is absurd or is it more likely going to spy on the Russians in the meantime? Last time I checked, Russia is much closer to these bases-in-plan than Iran to them. Do the math.

If Iranians are going to attack US with missiles, they will do the smart thing - they will first attack and try to wipe out the US bases, forces, allies in the Middle East. By then, if they'll even succeed or if they'll even have any missiles left, they might try to do a suicidal and untested missile attack deep around the world. Ridiculous ... Iran would require a well-tested, sophisticated, long-range advanced and heavy payload missile to achieve that. And they will not gamble, because what if the missile runs out of fuel or changes trajectory somewhere in Europe ... think twice!
