I'd put a very sizable portion of my work up for free download. Music, to me, has a far greater meaning than cash flow. If people like what I produce, if they can dance to it if it's danceable or chill to it if it calls for it, then that makes me happy. Hell, I spun my first gig at a mostly empty 16+ gig, and of the 10 or so people that were there only two of them "understood" Tech House. The rest of them grooved to it but were confused at certain points. It still made me incredibly happy and satisfied to know that I made those people dance. How much did I get paid? Nothing, and I don't care (even though the size of the attendance warranted nothing). No amount of money that could ever be given to me at any point in my life (unless I'm homeless) will ever amount to the feeling of knowing that what I was doing was making a couple of people have a great time.

That's all that I'm in it for, and I know that that's all that you're in it for. Would it be nice to make some extra money from it? Hell yeah it would! What do you think I am, fucking crazy? But am I going to sit there and expect that people give me cash or whine about people downloading? No. Am I going to sit behind my synths and decks and say, "Well, I need more cash so I should water-down this stuff and make it sell more"? No.

If I was in his position most of my music would be free. The amount of income from record sales is so minute it's not even funny. The only income for me would be from gigs, and even then I wouldn't expect to be paid thousands upon thousands of dollars. If I was traveling day after day then yeah, I could probably make a decent living off of it. But if I was only traveling on the weekends, then I would hold down a part-time job. That wouldn't bother me one bit, because I'd still be incredibly content with being able to make a crowd of people happy.

I think it's funny how most of you will let Mysery or Mike totally ruin any thread they walk on. Why not just... *gasp*... ignore them!

nope, but you've quickly gone from an arminwhore to what we call a trend-house whore. While you get pleasure from ignoring Nik or Mikey, some of us get pleasure from laughing at how quickly some people seem to move on & forget the music they raved on about for so long. Each to their own I guess is my point

I'm still an Arminwhore. lol

Shows how much you know... or THINK you know about me.

Edit: And since you care so much, just because I play different music all the time to keep me interested in djing, it has no effect on the music I still listen to for my own pleasure while driving in my car or hanging out or going to a club.

You say things like that, yet you take cheap blows at me when I haven't even said anything. Strange, huh.

You say enough on a daily basis.

Holding a grudge on the internet

+1 but he'd never run. Hes smart enough to realize that politics are too far gone to fix.

Funny how you claim to have me on ignore, yet you seem to know exactly what I'm doing all the time. Adorable.

Or maybe your posts are just that predictable.

Posted by Mr.Mystery on Jun-09-2007 16:57:

Ah, so that's why he's using the same line every time.

Do you really think I wouldn't know what you just said already?

Most predictable TA since meenedit

Posted by TranceArmstrong on Jun-10-2007 19:16:

i'm all for ripping on svd and other artists if you genuinely don't like them but this is just a bootleg that he's giving away for free. same with that arctic monkeys abomination, imo the worst song he's ever done. these are just popular remixes designed for the dancefloor, nothing more
