-- NE1 done with partying all the time?
Pages (3): « 1 [2] 3 »
My love for the music has always superceded the need for "enhancers" - very rarely (if ever) did I ever feel I had to drink or take anything during a house/minimal/electro OR at any parties done by locals <--ill attribute that to the *special* vibe u guys create <3. I'm sure we all so appreciate that, keep up the fabulous work!!!!
lol
Yup! I used to be in toronto Thurs-Sun with my boyfriend and went OUT Thurs-Sun afternoon! Then took the ferry back to Rochester still awake LOL
I used to literally get butterflies when I went out, and couldnt remember ONE night that I came home saying "meh."
Ever since I moved to NYC, the excitement tends not to be there, and I definately dont get the same satisfaction out of partying like I used to. The scene is def not the same here at ALL, BUT nyc is way better, imo, in many other forms of entertainment besides clubbing..... and thus I have had so much fun trying out new things that I wasnt able to do before besides partying. So even tho I have been utterly dissapointed in thge scene here, I have exchanged it for other fun things that are just as satisfying.
also, being in grad school with a job/internship/class/homework makes it a lot tougher to go out 3-4 days a week.

Getting old ain't no excuse people. I didn't start going out until after I was older than most of you are now. It's about where your life is at.
life is a party
and the party was life

Reasons i don't go out:
1)Not as fun anymore
2)The night always seems predictable
3)It's always a hassle in someway or another
4)Hate messing up my sleep pattern cause then I can't work out
5)Other important responsibilities
It just doesn't seem worth it anymore. The only thing that sucks is i haven't seen many of my friends in a while

yea
i mean back in the day i used to go factory or exit or roxy every weekend
now iam kinda away from that scene i hit up a jp party once in a while
but not like it was
mostly because more trance and other types of music is in nyc now
not just house like it used to be
so these days iam more open to see other dj's and just basically all about the music the scene comes second
but yea some parties i still get really excited for
i remember last year the dayof armin at tobacco warehouse i kept wakeing up in the middle the night with excitement
and i finally was up at 6:30 in the morn and my mom was like "dam ur never up this early"
dj taucher wants you to party
Reading all of these posts makes me reallyscary of getting old
I am still in the whole party mood, though, and I have been like this for the last 5 years
As a newcommer to NYC, I dont have anthing to complain (yet).

I love to party as hard as I can, I push my body to new limits each and every time.
Yeah... I find myself going to clubs (and checking this site) less and less as time passes. My peak clubbing time came a few years back after the breakup of a long relationship... I remember times when I'd drive up to NYC (I live between Baltimore and DC) for a show Friday night after work, then drive back without sleeping, crash for a few hours at my place, and then head into DC or wherever for Saturday night. Now, I wouldn't even consider doing that. I guess the whole mega-club / mega-DJ thing just doesn't do it for me the way it used to. I still listen to and love the music, and I'll still catch the occasional show if the DJ & location are right, but I def would no longer consider myslef "hardcore" by any stretch. But, I'm getting old(er), and have other interests and responsiblities... Oh well

I gotz me some kidz now...
Ive seen it all done it all...but i do look forward to "special events"...such as this summer..in Ibiza...i dont really go out much but i do have my occasional fix..when i have the enrgy.
I started really young and early and seems AGES ago ...how time flies..
P.S. About DJ Tacucher...I heard from a close friend of his that he is totally underground now doing really electro hard dance music and doesnt want to be in that "trance" scene anymore..hence reason why hes never around anymore...
I caght him at Webster a few years ago..it was fun

to answer the thread question, yes, me
the excitement of going out has definitely decreased in the past couple months...from 1999 - 2001 I was out every weekend in Boston, I knew nothing and everything was still fresh and new. I pretty much stopped and didn't get back into the scene until 2005 when I was abroad because people seemed to appreciate the music so much more in Eastern Europe. When I moved to NYC I got that new city feeling again and after being here for a little over a year that feeling has gone away.
Now I'm starting to think clubbing is a bit draining, I no longer have the energy to do other stuff I enjoy like play tennis or even go to the library because I'm too busy sleeping the daylight hours away. Plus nothing seems really fresh and new anymore. As some of you have seen I'm almost ALWAYS having a good time but I do miss doing other stuff sometimes.
i am for sure too! it's definitely a combination of things. those saying age has nothing to do with it- are you still gonna be clubbing till 7 am when you are 45? i don't think so...a lot of this comes with age and growing up and just where you are in your life. i still like to go to clubs every now and again, but i definitely don't have the desire like i used to. when you go clubbing 2-3/week for 6 years straight, the novelty definitely wears off. now i love going to happy hours and drinking wine with friends...but i am still young and am down for a crazy night ever so often. there are a few djs coming into town this summer that i am looking forward to see, but i'm sure i won't make it out to every one of them.
i think this year since i am starting my career (finally!), i don't want to be so drained and exhausted from a weekend of partying. i'm glad i'm not the only one to feel like this though!
as for the music, i absolutely still LOVE the music...but as i get older, i find i like listening to it at smaller venues or at home rather than getting searched/harassed/eye raped at mega clubs. you can still enjoy the music without the club nights ruling your life.

. Even 12-1pm is a bit too late to wake up...and then I wonder what's the pt of breakin night at times...just sometimes tho.
