Just got back from that party. It was a success! The only problem was that the system was shitty. My mixing was as tight as can be and those teenie boppers seemed to like my track selection as well. The setting was pretty unique as it was a pool party. I dropped a few top 40 remixes and I had people cheering when they heard proper education. Most of my set was electro house, but I moved into progressive towards the end.

Thanks for all of your tips. I'm now really itching to play out again.

I was gonna say this: high schoolers listen to top 40 and hip hop....i can help you build a playlist if you want but the thing is this event should have minimal electronic music. As much as you and i love electronic music, its not mainstream enough to highschoolers that they would enjoy it...

looks like i got proved wrong....good job! knowing your crowd is always key though

Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised when some of them started cheering and that I actually got compliments. I was expecting assholes coming up and telling me to "turn off that techno shit," but that didn't happen.

yeh, at all the high school events/party i ahve played at i have only ever been told to turn of that techno crap once i just pointed to the door and said "doors right there, use it"
