Doctors certainly aren't infallible and one would be a fool to think otherwise.
I have nothing against doctors, they did a wonderful job during my surgery putting the screws in my broken leg, however health prevention is something they've dropped from their forte a while back.
Strange considering in the past, all doctors were also homeopaths.
Now, to get caught up on all the latest pills and drugs, they get taught by the highest kickback pharmaceutical company that sends a rep.
It's not that I don't trust the doctors, it's the business behind the doctors that take advantage of the fact that they're very busy and simply don't have the time to properly research the drugs, etc themselves.
I'm probably going off on a tangent here so I digress.../rant

Look, basically it's a gamble and as much as we have to give it a civilised veneer to make it sound less like gambling, it is. You weigh up the odds on either side and go dashing across that 8 lane free way to take your chances.
The odds of a vaccine going bad are very poor. If it was a horse, you wouldn't even waste $0.50 throwing money on it because it's not going to cross the line.
The odds of getting a childhood disease are also very poor bet and for all the wrong reasons that make them a bad bet, chances are your kid will get one if they don't get the shots.
Then they're going to get sick and a lot of this stuff isn't something that the doctors can just wave a magic jar of pills at if you're out of luck and the kid catches a disease. Most people in western countries really do take their health for granted and they rarely count themselves lucky if their kids survive past the age of 2, indeed it's by far the minority which don't survive that become the unusual case and a great deal of that comes from-

Take a trip up the eastern seaboard of Africa one day, following your mother who's 'hobby' aside from being an orthopaedic surgeon, was jabbing kids with needles in places where health care wasn't a convenient option to be ignored by choice. It's pretty damn easy to see where these things work, the places that don't have this kind of care have mortality rates which are truly staggering. It's why they have so many kids, they just drop like flies every time a decent flu or worse comes through the place, they are not dying, malformed, handicapped or maimed because western doctors are throwing needles at their arse like a dartboard!

They get killed and maimed by things like influenza, chicken pox, measles, hepatitis and polio, which are passing out of living memory as a cause of childhood mortality and spastic conditions in your countries.
Now, I don't really hope to change anyone's mind here because some of you seem set in your ways, but vaccines do a great deal more help than harm.
It's your bet and you have to live with it ultimately.

Therefore, we must look at every health article, every statistic, and every little detail with regards to health, medicines, their effects on people, all of this should be in detail front page so that we know exactly where the problems are to make sure other people dont get the same health problems. In this case, its obvious there's some problems with vaccinations to some children. So this MUST BE ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY. There should be no "we'll be working on it later and improving it over the time" - health is the most important issue. I am not for just banning or stopping the vaccinations. But efforts and research must be comncetrated to make sure no more children get permanently disabled. Some of you just dont care because its not your child. People always think, well, its not going to happen to me. Hopefully it doesnt. But sitting there and just pretending its all good is not the solution to the problem. Thats something along the lines of my thinking. |
I don't know what's going on but I'm glad I was vaccinated for smallpox and polio.

Written by Dr. Stephanie Cave, a Baton Rouge, Louisiana family practitioner specializing in treatment of children with autism and ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder), the book provides guidelines for minimizing risks. Dr. Cave examines the unprecedented increase in childhood-onset disabilities and the acceleration of immunizations to children, and calls for additional research into the likely connection between these two factors. It is noteworthy that Cave does not advocate a ban on vaccines, nor does she recommend parents stop vaccinating their children. She does, however, encourage parents to become educated about the vaccines and their options for changing the schedule, dosages and frequency of some vaccines and for the parents to question the necessity of others. Dr. Cave is not a lone voice crying in the wilderness. One leading national physician organization formally called for a moratorium on all government Mandated Vaccines and passed a resolution to that end at their annual meeting. This resolution by the Members of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS) was passed without a single �no� vote. (The resolution and an accompanying mandatory vaccine fact sheet is posted at www.aapsonline.org.) Jane M. Orient, MD, AAPS Executive Director, said, �Our children face the possibility of death or serious long-term adverse effects from mandated vaccines that aren�t necessary or that have very limited benefits.� But she also clarified that, �This is not a vote against vaccines. This resolution only attempts to halt blanket vaccine mandates by government agencies and school districts that give no consideration for the rights of the parents or the individual medical condition of the child.� In noting the problem, it has been observed that forty two states have policies which insure Mandatory Vaccines, and thus many children are required to have as many as 22 shots before first grade. Also, as a condition for school attendance, many school districts require vaccination for diseases such as hepatitis B -- primarily an adult disease, usually spread by multiple sex partners, drug abuse or an occupation with exposure to blood. And yet, children under the age of 14 are three times more likely to suffer adverse effects -- including death -- following the hepatitis B vaccine, than to catch the disease itself. At one point, students in Utica, New York were sent home from school, and told they could not return until they had been received hepatitis B vaccinations. Furthermore, parents were then threatened by Child Protective Services with possible seizure of their children based on �educational neglect.� �It�s obscene to threaten to seize a child just because his parents refuse medical treatment that is obviously unnecessary and perhaps even dangerous,� said Dr. Orient. �AAPS believes that parents, with the advice of their doctors, should make decisions about their children�s medical care -- not government bureaucrats. This Resolution affirms that position.� The aspect of Mercury in Childhood Vaccines is perhaps the most horrific of problems, in that not only does the vaccine additive potentially cause autism and neurological damage, but there is some evidence that the United States Federal Government knew about the negative possibilities and thereafter simply ignored them -- ostensibly for profit for certain corporations and other indefensible motives. The problem is, however, much larger than childhood inoculations. Now, predicated on 9-11-2001, the United States government wants to vaccinate everyone against Smallpox. The fact is the vaccine might cause thousands of unnecessary deaths due to negative Drug Reactions, and that furthermore, the smallpox vaccine is likely: 1) ineffective against any strain of smallpox which might be used as a weapon, 2) unvaccinated individuals would not infect vaccinated individuals, and 3) there is an implied assumption that the vaccinations are any good to begin with! These 3 facts are basically irrefutable, and we haven�t even begun to consider the issue of inalienable rights, freedoms, or the question of an individual�s right/responsibility to choose their medicine in accordance with the basic tenets of Health and Responsibility. One might ask how anyone pushing for mandatory vaccines can justify forcing those who don�t want the vaccine, on the basis they might infect vaccinated individuals! If the latter were vaccinated, why are they suddenly at risk? How does the government get around the negatives of a mandated smallpox vaccination? Simply by the use of fear. For example, according to Peter Jahrling, principle scientific advisor to the United States Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID), �I don�t think there is any higher biological threat to this nation than smallpox.� This statement may actually be true, but it does not say that vaccinations -- mandated or otherwise -- will do anything but make the drug companies richer. Smallpox is, admittedly, a deadly disease, and a potentially extremely potent weapon of war. The relevant question yet to be answered is the validity of the mandated vaccination programs. At the heart of the vaccine issue, however, is the question of whether or not any vaccine is beneficial! Can we trust anything the pharmaceutical companies, the medical Cartels, the government co-conspirators, or anyone else who advocates the use of vaccines? When there are apparent connections between Vaccines and Aids to the degree the vaccines themselves may have been responsible for initiating the AIDS pan-epidemic, one must stop and question authority like it�s never been questioned before! There is, in fact, a significant Smallpox Vaccine Resistance movement which is growing faster than some strains of the virus. It�s not like the resistance does not have adequate, rational arguments! When one considers the flaws in Vaccine Research and some of the Smallpox Vaccine Results, it�s a wonder that any vaccines are every approved, accepted, tolerated, or given any more credence than the worst snake oil prescriptions. During the same period in Germany, with a vaccination rate of 96%, there were over 125,000 deaths from smallpox. [The Hadwen Documents] � In Germany, compulsory mass vaccination against diphtheria commenced in 1940 and by 1945 diphtheria cases were up from 40,000 to 250,000. [Don't Get Stuck, Hannah Allen] � In the USA in 1960, two virologists discovered both polio vaccines were contaminated with the SV 40 virus, which causes cancer in animals as well as changes in human cell tissue cultures. Millions of children had been injected with these vaccines. [Medical Journal of Australia, March 17, 1973, p555.] � In 1967, Ghana was declared measles free by the World Health Organization after 96% of its population was vaccinated. In 1972, Ghana experienced one of its worst measles outbreaks with its highest ever mortality rate. [Science, April 4, 1977, �Abstracts�.] � In 1978, a survey of 30 States in the US revealed that more than half of the children who contracted measles had been adequately vaccinated. [The Lancet, September 21, 1991.] � In 1990, a UK survey involving 598 doctors revealed that over 50% of them refused to have the Hepatitis B vaccine despite belonging to the high risk group urged to be vaccinated. [British Medical Journal, January 27, 1990.] � In 1990, the Journal of the American Medical Association had an article on measles which stated �Although more than 95% of school-aged children in the US are vaccinated against measles, large measles outbreaks continue to occur in schools and most cases in this setting occur among previously vaccinated children.� [Journal of the American Medical Association, JAMA, November 21, 1990.] � In the USA, from July 1990 to November 1993, the US Food and Drug Administration counted a total of 54,072 adverse reactions following vaccination. The FDA admitted that this number represented only 10% of the real total, because most doctors were refusing to report vaccine injuries. One of five children in a Christian homeschooling family I know well, the child suffered an extreme and life-altering reaction to the common childhood vaccine. Today, perhaps 15 years later, her family's life largely revolves around taking care of the now-teenage girl, confined to a wheelchair, unable to speak, her life decimated by a "required" vaccine shot. Indeed, the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program, part of the federal Department of Health and Human Services, was set up years ago to pay for the care of just such vaccine-injured Americans. If you or your child suffers from anaphylactic shock or brachial neuritis as a result of getting any tetanus-toxoid-containing vaccine, you're eligible. Develop encephalopathy � literally, disease of the brain � from pertussis antigen-containing vaccines, or from measles, mumps and rubella virus-containing vaccines, and you qualify. What about chronic arthritis from rubella virus-containing vaccines, or a vaccine-strain measles viral infection from a measles virus-containing vaccine? What about contracting paralytic polio or vaccine-strain polio viral infection from a polio live virus-containing vaccine, or intussusception (prolapsed intestine) from vaccines containing live, oral, rhesus-based rotavirus? These are just some of the vaccine-caused injuries suffered by Americans, conditions quietly being cared for with federal dollars. To report journalistically on vaccination controversies is a real challenge. On one side you have the medical establishment, including the federal government's Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which endlessly repeats the mantra that vaccines are safe and effective and everybody should get them. To question their wisdom makes you a paranoid conspiracy theorist. On the other hand, you have a substantial and growing movement of skeptics, including many medical professionals, who openly question vaccines. Some are strident, claiming all vaccines are bad for all people at all times and places, and a few even impute a sinister motive to vaccine manufacturers and the doctors that give the shots. But many others are careful and nuanced and very well informed. They consider each vaccine individually on its merits as well as its known and suspected negatives � and still come out holding up a big "caution" sign. For years, the vaccine debate was confined largely to the traditional childhood vaccines like DPT (diphtheria-pertussis-tetanus), MMR (measles-mumps-rubella) and polio. Even then, there were major concerns. The pertussis vaccine, for example, is notorious for having rare but horrendous side effects, and most polio cases in the world in recent years have been caused by the live-virus vaccine itself! These are widely known facts the CDC will not contradict � although it certainly doesn't go out of its way to advertise the dark side of vaccines. (The U.S. government stopped using the live-virus polio vaccine in 2000 because of the incidents of vaccine-related polio, the last U.S. case of which was documented in 1999.) But in recent times, many new childhood vaccines have been introduced, from rotavirus and chickenpox to hepatitis B, meningitis and pneumonia, each with their own controversies and, in some cases, scandals. At first, the new vaccines are just ''suggested,'' then they became ''recommended" by pediatricians, and before long they're ''required'' before entering public school. As a result of all this vaccine-mania: Right now, state after state is attempting literally to force young, prepubescent school-girls into getting a brand-new vaccine, with an unproven safety record, to prevent a sexually transmitted form of cancer. The manufacturer, pharmaceutical giant Merck, has lobbied state politicians to make their vaccine mandatory. It is as though we assume all these girls will act like prostitutes in a few years. (Indeed, one can easily argue that forcing girls to take this shot would serve to encourage risky and immoral sexual behavior, as they might feel protected from the consequences of such activity.) Surprise, two weeks ago WND reported at least three deaths and more than 1,600 adverse reactions including spontaneous abortion and paralysis have already been connected to the Merck vaccine, called Gardasil. There's major movement toward an AIDS vaccine. Once approved by the government, will there be another push like the current one to immunize schoolgirls against a sexually transmitted disease, only this time to mandate the AIDS vaccine for everybody? Despite publicity to the contrary, the controversial mercury-based vaccine preservative Thimerosal � thought by some researchers to be linked to rising levels of autism in the U.S. � is still used in some vaccines. WND has documented the forced vaccination of a newborn against a sexually transmitted disease, despite the parents' strenuous objections, with armed guards present to ensure the infant's inoculation. Can vaccines cause cancer? Between 1955 and 1963, some 10 to 30 million Americans received polio shots tainted with Simian virus 40, or SV40, a monkey virus now known to be associated with certain forms of cancer in humans. Sound too bizarre and conspiratorial to believe? You can read it right here on the website of the federal government's Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Then there's the U.S. military, which compels soldiers to get multiple vaccinations. Some experts, citing compelling evidence, blame the military's anthrax shots for the epidemic dubbed "Gulf War Syndrome." Despite all the negatives, the subject of vaccines is not black and white, although both sides in the controversy tend to make the issue sound that way. The truth is, vaccines have saved countless lives. They also have a history of disastrous side effects and suspected or proven dangers � a dark downside utterly covered up by the public health establishment. So, I'm not going to advise you that "Vaccines A, B and C are bad � don't get them. Vaccines D and E are good � get them." Rather, the purpose of this column is to begin to expose you to the rest of the vaccine story � the part you never hear about from other media. An unfortunate mindset permeates the medical world (and elsewhere) with the message that citizens are either too ignorant, uneducated or just plain dumb to do their own research and come to their own conclusions. Yet this is one area where each of us must do just that. If you have young children, you need to research for yourself the subject of vaccines and look at each on its merits. For instance, many will tell you the vaccine to regard with the most suspicion would be pertussis, due to the disastrous outcome that sometimes results. On the other end of the spectrum, tetanus seems to evoke the least concern about side effects, and to confer the most tangible benefits, especially if you live in a farm area and work with animals. The bottom line is that all of us need to research this subject with an open and critical mind. Vaccine decisions can be difficult, as you attempt to balance the promised benefits with known and suspected negative effects. Along with obtaining good information, we have to consider our particular situation. And intuition also plays a vital role. It's critical to understand clearly that most "health officials" concerned with immunology are not focused on what is best for you and your individual child, but on what they perceive to be the best interests of the population as a whole. And from that macro viewpoint, they strive to maintain what they call the "herd immunity." In other words, if large numbers of people opt out of vaccination, even for the most wholesome and sensible of reasons, the medical establishment will oppose it out of fear that once-eradicated (like smallpox) or near-eradicated (like polio) diseases will come back. As a side note, not to bash your little brother, on average autistic kids are mentally retarded. Kids that have autism and special abilities are a minority and are rare. About 10% of autistic kids are savants, i.e. really good at some particular skill. Autism does entail lack of social skills, but does not entail compensation in other areas. Just because someone is autistic does not mean they will have some extraordinary ability.
Well, thats the thing, you wont find the article we are both looking for because if it was out there it would be big news. But yes, you are right, we need vaccinations. It does need to be tight and very public / regulated so that people know all about its effects. Some vaccines and their ingredients are questionable, but its true, parents can be rightfully held negligent for not vaccinating their kids. But we shouldn't force it and make laws making ALL vaccinations mandatory. Some are just too dangerous and unneccessary. Its a risk, for sure. The positive note is that the chances it will affect kids very negatively are very low (for most vaccines). But not enough. Hopefully, and soon, vaccinations will become more and more safer for our children. Its just a shame something, likely vaccination, created so many problems for my youngest brother. Never before in my family line. Never.

Issues of autism ... I've already been linking the rise of autism some time ago, I thought about it back in 1999 for the first time, in my research I compared to the rise in the use of powerful chemicals, vaccines and other crap.
I know they say its hard to prove this 'n that, but most people know better. There's only one thing thats evidence about autism - reactions of young children to chemicals and vaccines. I have no doubt these play a huge role. Probably the primary role. Wait till this becomes a "fact" and autistic families go on a suing frenzy, rightfully. Maybe reading about my youngest brother's autistic history will shed some light on the problem.

Oh, great ... so the burden of proof is on me again? Its easy to deny and disagree than to provide information on the rise of autism. How about you guys provide some evidence to prove your point!!! Huh? ... I am just using logic to back my point because the science is too weak right now to back up my point properly. But I have shown proof that vaccines HAVE a negative effect on children, at least the ones that show very acute symptoms.
Its very ignorant to believe that the rise of autism is just a normal occurence and there's no correlation to the stuff our children are forced to intake into their bodies at young age (pretty much the main thing that can have an immediate impact on their bodies, brain).
