What's going on Music wise Saturday afternoon like form 5pm on ?

^^^ That stage is still enclosed, AFAI remember, but is a rather large area and is thus licensed to serve booze. Church/Wellesley was just open on the street, no license, no revenue
so it seems pretty clear why they've switched things up this year, lol.
I'm likely hitting the big Saturday night party (Tony Moran is actually decent) and that's about it in terms of parties. Most of the after hours stuff is the same old, same old DJs...lame in comparison to the street events and stuff going on at smaller venues.
Will catch Sarah on the stage...perhaps Miss Honey and TK too, as they're both awesome...mostly looking forward to the street stuff.
Would have loved to checked Sarah's set on Saturday, but I wont be able to make it downtown now until Sunday.
So just Sunday street parties for me. I definitely wanna see Dr. Trance's set

sorry nick. (its not my place of course, so i dont wanna be inviting ppl over to a house thats not mine.)
This will be my first year ever attending ANY pride events so I'm quite excited. On Friday I'm hitting up Footwork for TK and Honey Dijon...may try and catch deko-ze on the stage.
Saturday I was invited to a Body Paint party with electronic music and blacklights. Mmmm sounds like the zone complete with body paint...may be fun...or I may just run for my life...either way I'll have fun doing it!

Ugh, please don't take your camera to what is thought to be a private event like that. The reason why it is enclosed is to give the women some sense of privacy.
If you're going to be straight at pride, respect the culture and the community. Don't exploit it by taking photos just to show your straight friends later all of the crazy things you saw. It can get crazy, but be happy just to be a part of it.
some vids from the last few years from my digi at the church & wellesley stage.

I have no clue exactly what I am doing yet. I just know that I will be in Toronto with friends from Saturday afternoon until Sunday night.
Whatever happens, happens.

| Originally posted by riskytrader As long as you are women-identified it's cool. I think dragqueens are allowed http://www.pridepaintparty.ca ok just checked: All womyn-identified persons welcome, of all sexual orientations. You are invited to create this space as your own playground for 5 hours. You are free to dance as you feel, listen to your body, and to paint your wildest imaginings on a myriad of living canvases. You are invited to explore new ways of moving; new ways of interacting; new ways of expressing. You are welcome to bring your own tool of creation - from drums to cameras - and enhance the experience for everyone. You are challenged to learn something from each encounter of the evening; to be bold and present, and to enjoy. Blacklight swaths the space Electronic music moves your body The dance floor calls your bare feet A dazzling array of body paints are laid out for your creative desires to flow free. Around you, women cavort, converse, and come together. I'm afraid! |
