i've been living in SF for over a year now and I still have not been to a TA event...

I think this is a good intro to the SF scene.

will probably go close to 10 or 11 because I'll be just flying back from a conference that evening.

I look forward to meeting you guys!! do you usu stay towards the front?

Rachel

rachel you've been missing some great parties this year, but at least you caught the peak season! the tas are usually at the front, front sides or by the dj booth at every event. you should be able to spot at least one of us throughout the night and the rest will follow. see you there

I missed a lot of cool things this year, but it's been the biggest transition year I've ever had so I don't mind too much. (I moved here from NYC... never been this far from my family before, plus got a really intense job, plus living with my bf for the first time... )

I look forward to meeting you all!

Rachel

werd! Oakland needs to know!

Posted by R!CH on Jun-22-2007 23:47:

i would show up early regardless of set times. slide is a small venue and a party like this will have no problem filling up by 11. plus that's a hardhitting line up...

Tonight's the night!

Posted by retrobyte on Jun-24-2007 09:20:

hey hey everyone can't wait!

set times are as follows (from what I understand, at least)

Me: 9-11
Pete: 11-12
G&D: 12-3

can't wait to see everyone there! expect some surprises

When G&D play here, we typically expected to hear a few new tracks and/or remixes from them.

SF is lucky in that way lol.

Last free party Spundae did with G&D was when Armin was in town after WMC a couple years ago....threw together the free event with less than 24 hours notice. One of my favorite nights ever -- will never forget the site of Armin being nearly passed out behind G&D, but sobered up pretty well before he came on....then at the end of his set the fire alarms kept going off and Armin didn't care and wanted to keep on playing, hehe. Mighty (the club) was packkkkkkkkeddd. We were amazed by how many people turned out for the oddball event thown in the middle of the week using only a ghetto graphic to send around to get people to come. Oh yeah, SF got to hear Zocalo (named after a coffee shop in San Leandro) first because of that event....just a couple hours after Armin and G&D completed it!

That night was simply magical.

I have a feeling tomorrow night is gonna be similar in its magic because each and every person in the crowd are gonna be true fans of G&D, Pete, and you.

Will be glad to meet you. Will prob be standing guard making sure people don't mob the DJs.

I just thought of something....

Aren't the decks in Slide like built into an old grand piano?

Are G&D just gonna set up their laptop on top of the paino? lol

(I could be wrong about the whole piano thing)

Also, I just learned that there's basically no dancefloor in Slide. Uh oh, that could spell trouble! Heard there's a small one right against the bar, but it makes the bar way overcrowded.

Too bad T-Dance is happening at Ruby upstairs....bet they'd move to the party there if it it wasn't!

Smoke breaks should be interesting considering it's Gay Pride Weekend....imagine T-Dance Ruby is gonna be hella packed.

I've been thinking the same thing, re:t-dance at ruby skye. should be interesting! lol. Well the fact that it is free, spontaneous, a sunday night ( and I had no problem convincing a few friends) and I happen to be in town at a week with absolutely nothing going on - is going to make for a fun night!

yep, just like the free spontaneous night with G&D and Armin....expect some surprises??? - I wonder what or who???

Posted by 2tall on Jun-24-2007 18:50:

And just how many women do I need to have with me to ensure entrance?

exactly

or will a special exception be made for us ugly TAs?

Posted by 2tall on Jun-24-2007 19:10:

never been, but apparently official capacity is 300... looking forward to it!

Posted by y2yen on Jun-24-2007 20:44:

this is 21+ right?

Posted by DaveT on Jun-24-2007 22:47:

yessir

Also, considering it's a special one off event at Slide, I hope they don't enforce the usual dress code and ratio there tonight. It was never indicated to me that they would so I am going to imagine they won't. But I am not sure. Maybe someone can call Ruby and/or Slide. Sure someone can tell you. I'm not near a phone!

If I can somehow confirm it before I head out in a few hours, I'll make sure to post. Person I'd ask is offline right now.
