Currently use a 4GB NANO but I have used a Samsung MP3 player before and that one was great.

Wow, a lot of people on this forum apparently don't know how to read.
As for me, if I'm ever in a position to need one, I use my Treo with a 2 GB SD card.

Shit, ur right. I see that part when reading the original post.
After reading "I'm looking to get one .. nothing fancy just 2-4GB that is compact and sleek." I just clicked Reply.
My bad.

No bad really.. I did ask "what's your mp3 player?" and I didn't mean to be excluding those with iPods.. it's just that I'm exploring other options for myself.
I don't have anything against iPods but it really seems like they get mixed reviews.
After reading some of the negative feedback about Sansas I'm now leaning more towards this one:

Got a PSP too. Running on a 4 Gig card . And amped up. Love it. Most complete portable in my opinion. Movies, games, music, images, and WI-FI ready.
Keep it on this at work and it recharges as it plays. Never have to worry about battery life.
But depending on how you are using it, I think they have a 4-5 hour battery life???

Well, I've had my phone, for what? 2 months now, and I *JUST* learning how to turn off the REALLY annoying double "beep boop" sound whenever I lose or re-gain a singal on my phone!!
It had been driving me nuts for months, but I couldnt figure out the option, then started to think there WASN"T an option.
So I dealt. Then I was at a work retirement party last Saturday and we were in Nottawa where I couldnt get any signal 50% of the time for some reason (damn wireless semi-blackholes), so I'd be in a conversation w/ associates, etc and my darn phone would be chirping non stop.
UGH. Even had a few ppl tell me how annoying it was, so i just turned my phone off to deal.
THen, I dunno why I searched, but I was playign on my phoen (LOL thats for you Blackness!! haha) and I found an option under SETTINGS > NETWORK there's the heading SERVICE TONE. And it can be ON or OFF.
Finally clued in I think that may be it!! And it was. Ahhhh! Freedom! Atleast. No more annoyingness

I recently got the 80gb iPod and absolutely love it! The battery live is amazing..i think its like 24 hours of music / 6 hours of video. I would definitely buy another if I needed to.
Here's a thread i made on what music devices do people use to listen to their music..there might be some players in here that you can look at

she says she isnt looking for anything over 4 gigs but i would imagine the 80 gig would have good battery life for that kind of money i rather save it for a rainy day.

Storage depends on what Memory Stick you use. Anywhere from 32MB to 4GB, I think there's an 8GB. I have 1 256MB, a 1GB and a 2GB.
I heart my PSP(s) (yeah I have two of them. Long story)

And yeah, 4-5 hour battery life sounds about right.

I've never really used my PSP for music. Hell, i haven't played my PSP for quite a while.
I've been primarily using it watch TV. I got the Sony Location Free TV for when I was living at University so I could watch Digital TV.
You running Homebrew on your PSP?

Yes sir, I am. Both PSPs are on firmware version 1.50 but I have Devhook 0.46 so I can emulate firmware version 3.03 and play some of the newest games (Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories, Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops), but not all. I haven't gotten a recent game so I'm safe...for now.
I also have NesterJ and SnesX so I can play Nintendo and Super Nintendo as well...
Homebrew FTW.
I love the visualizations 3.03 has for mp3s. Nowhere near as totally sick as Winamp but better than nothing.
How is that Sony Location Free TV? Is it pretty cool? What firmware are you using?

I had homebrew running but I lost/misplaced my MS with all that stuff. I had mine upgraded to like 2.5 or something like that so I had to use the GTA Liberty City Stories hack using GTA EBOOT and stuff like that so I could use NesterJ and SnesX...as well as another one to play GBA games.
I also had some other apps. There was one where you could listen to Internet Radio, but I couldn't manage to get that to work properly.
But the Sony Location Free TV is actually pretty cool. I use to watch TV while I was in class. I hated having class during the hockey game, but this solved that problem! It's pretty funny because if you change the channel on your PSP, it changes the channel at the TV at your house. So if someone is watching the TV while you are watching it on your PSP, you can freak them out by changing the channel and turning up the volume and stuff haha
I scared my parents once because the TV at home was connected to the receiver, and I guess the receiver was left on, so when I turned on the TV at school they thought there was a burglar downstairs cause they could hear people talking and stuff like that (from the TV).
I'm getting my 360 and Wii modded this weekend so I can do stuff on there as well, and would put Linux on my PS3, except I don't know anything about Linux...anyone want to help me? haha

While we're on the topic, can someone explain to me the purpose of putting OSs on game consoles? Why don't you just use a normal computer?
