When I was 18 (senior year of high school) I got a kanji symbol tattooed on my tail bone. Its a fuku, which is the symbol for good fortune and luck.

And not to say that I started it or anything lol, but pretty much after I got thatthe whole Chinese/Japanese symbol tattoo craze startedmore specificallyl on the low back.

So yea I was pissed. Thats the one tattoo I have that actually means something cool to me considering the fact that I lived in japan for 2 years. It sucks because everyone is always like, haha is that what it REALLY means?

Its from a necklace my dad bought me while we were living there. I brought it in to the tattoo guy and he drew it out for me.

Oh well. Pretty soon, everyone will be saying the same shit about girls who have them on their shoulder blades or wherever else its cool now. lol

I'd love to get a phoenix tattooed over my scorpion if possible. Big, and in color...maybe even wrapping around my hip and down my bum/thigh.

Haha, shit no way. I wonder if she's a scorpio too? The phoenix is one of our symbols.

Traditional type tats are my fave. Everything from tribal designs, to Chinese style stuff (those are my absolute fave), to the old navy/nautical designs...sparrows, etc. Ooh, and pin-up girls!

Actually my best friend and I want to get matching tats of pin-up girls...just been looking for the right design.

Posted by Slylee on Jun-20-2007 20:24:

i dont think she is...i forget what it says on her myspace. i think she's an aries.

i'm just over tatooes..i dont like mine. when i have the extra cash someday, i'm getting the laser removal stuff done. mine are small and will probably be gone after a couple sessions.

Lira is pretty straight forward translation. But Marcus is not.

I've written down the basic letter for "r" which is pronounced as "ra". In the word Marcus, the pronunciation of "ra" is short. It's like a half pronunciation when you transition from "ma" to "cu". So you gota put the curve on top of "cu" which actually means that a short "ra" exists before "cu" (the curve is called "rafaar"). In the case of Lira, the pronunciation of the last letter is actually "raa", a longer form of "ra". So you gota put the vertical line ("|") after "ra" to indicate the longer pronunciation. Marcus can also be written in another way, where you put a small line under the said letter to indicate it's short pronunciation. But that's not a very common form to write for "ra" although, that way you actually see the letter "ra" in the word.

OMG, that's really nice of you, thanks

I've got some questions, but I'm posting them as soon as I get home

you do know those aren't strictly correct. the hindi /sanskrit pronunciation of Jenny is unwritable. What you ve written is pronounced Janie. Even the earlier Lira, it depends whether its Li-ra or Lee-ra which decided where the 'matra' will go.

Shouldn't really do foreign languages unless they can be written exactly how your name is pronounced.

I've always wanted a barcode, but its gotten so common now. Going to get an outline of the Indian flag at the top of my back when I go to Goa in July.

Jenny is not strictly correct ofcourse...but i wrote it that way so that it looks very similar to Jamie haha. It would be more correct to write her name as

I think Lira is correct you pronounce it just the way it's written, as in with the 'matra' drawn on the left and not the "lee" type on the right.

Wait, I was going to ask Omega a few things, but this whole matra thing is confusing me - what is it? And does it change the stressed syllable in my name?

Here's me saying my name:

Would that change the way I should write my name in Sanskrit/Hindi/Marathi?

I really want one and have been thinking about this since I was about 15 but never decided on something specific. My mom told me a little while ago that since I am the last person in the family to hold my last name, and I'm always complaining that, " I don't want to lose it, I want it to stay in the family blablabla" that I should get it done small somewhere where the only person who would see it is my BF/Husband. Small in cursive or something. That would be the only thing I wouldn't "regret" getting or whatever else comes along with being dissatisfied.

See I want something that has to do with me and me alone. I'd get a scorpion, but that's over done, I'd get a small ox but that's over done as well. Since I was a little girl I wanted a dragonfly on my right shoulder but that's whored out to the max. Grrrr. I might just give up and not get anything done.

Totally spat out my water on this one.

I could. I could turn my whole body into it. Legs be my legs, up the back and have one arm and hand turn into the neck and head/mouth.

Or maybe just a small one on my ass. hot.

Posted by Party Monster on Jun-21-2007 03:23:

Do people really spit out water at things they read on the internet? Come on.

Posted by Frenchie on Jun-21-2007 03:25:

They do. If I have read enough posts from one person, I can imagine how they'd say something and to me what she said sounded funny in my head.

Your problem is?

Posted by Party Monster on Jun-21-2007 03:29:

It just seems, I don't know, ludicrous?

Maybe I just don't 'get' the giraffe thing, but I really don't think I've spit out water at anything I've ever read on here or any other website.

Posted by Frenchie on Jun-21-2007 03:31:

I laugh easily and it doesn't take a lot to make me laugh.

I'm easy to please.
