| Originally posted by m2j yea, I was let down by Jelo's set as well. It was too mellow for my liking, I'm more used to hearing Jelo destroy the place with hard bangin' dirty techno. but i guess his set was more geared towards an opener set, in which case it alright, i guess. and as you mentioned it was nice to see TAs out. Great to meet djsketchbag, and always a pleasure to see Mortyman... the intoxicated convo was good times man, hahah. |

I walk in to footwork after getting my way with the bouncer at the doors (go me) all blitzed and walk down the hall, get my wrist band and turn the corner....walk straight into a fucking curtain LOL, that trips me out. I look at myself in the mirror and start making funny faces, then proceed to run into curtain #2...cool this is a good start so far i think to myself (in a good way)
I loved the layout of the club, absolutely loved it. The lighting, the intimacy, the perfectly spaced out couches/benches, everything.
The thing I really noticed and loved about the club was the crowd. They are all there for one reason: to party and dance and enjoy good beats. No guv crowd at all, had no problems with ANYONE. Everyone was friendly, dancing together...ahhh just that made my night.
Deadmau5 started off a bit lighter than I expected but then just started dropping DIRTY ELECTRO BEATS ughhhhhhhhh I was just laying against the speaker at one point LMAO
Fucking loved this night, loved footwork. There was not a single thing that i found negative.
phenomenal night (except for being stranded on the 401 sketching out at 5am in the morning cuz you ran out of gas)

Sorry for the late review....what an AMAZING night though. The crowd was perfect, the music was great, everything was spectacular. We showed up around 11:30 after getting stopped at the ride on Adelade...and of course cuz im driving drunk people I have to do a breathalizer...all was good and away we went to the club. When we got there i thought it would be PACKED....but to my surprise it wasnt at all.
It filled up nicely throughout the night, but it was a perfect amount of people, lots of dancing room at all times.
Anyone that didnt go MAN U MISSED OUT!!!!
Friendly crowd, very personal atmosphere, it was like a VIP party for us...JELO was GREATTTTTTT....he had me dancing up a storm! Then came Deadmau5....OMG, ripped it. I loved his last 2 songs...definately my fav.....
Cant believe we closed the place, OMG what a night of dancing.
NOTHING CAN COMPETE!!!
Wish i had met some more of you TA's, but i was too busy dancing! Nice meeting you Sasha....!!!
it was phenomenal. This being the first time I went to Footwork, I'll consider chilling there more often. It's a great chill spot, the music was phenomenal and so was the crowd, nothing compared to any other club, very friendly. It was nice seeing TAs there. As for the sets, they were all amazing, it kept most if not all of us going, I really enjoyed it.
I regret not bringing my camera and snap couple of pics, I didn't expect this big of a great experience, but will at the next event.
Getting back home was a bit sketchy with so many cops on the road and having to wait 15 minutes in line at the R.I.D.E police checkpoint set up on Spadina before the Gardiner exits, good thing I wasn't intoxicated; I saw s#*t loads of arrests, tickets and car impounds like never before, kinda freaked me out.
That's about it, waiting for Sasha to post the pictures he took that night, as well for many others who had their cameras with them.
Cheers and hope to see you all at the next big event.
