Basically, we knew a couple days in advance that Desyn cancelled his Toronto gig if you read the VIVA roll call thread with Lawler and company. Somebody wrote that his set was moved back several hours at Piknic and this is why he cancelled that same evening at the GUV.
I don't doubt Desyn was partying a little too hard during his set. Even Lawler admitted during his sunrise set by getting on a mic and telling us just how 'fucked up' he was and needed to end at 8am. He was quite frank and open about partying like a rock star that morning!Posted by Alex on Jul-16-2007 21:16:

Oh please, we all know Lawler's always looking for a reason to cut his set early and fuck off back to the hotel, most notorious half ass there is right now, if anyone deserves to lose his fan base it's him, yet all the Lawlerist junkies like Enjoy will want him booked at every party in Montreal.
He's a good DJ, obviously he's really talented and is adaptable, that's why he's still around, but it's lame how he treats his fans sometimes.

Toronto fans we were just being greedy for Lawler's set to be longer than it was. He played a total of 4 hours set on Canada Day. 2 hours in GUV's main room from 2-4am. He later went upstairs to the Skybar patio and played from 6-8am for his sunrise set.
I'm only bitching and whining because there was a strong possibility if Desyn didn't cancel in Toronto. He would probably have joined Lawler for a back2back sunrise set. It would have been a notorious flashback of 2005 when Sasha joined Lawler for the sunrise set at our Skybar patio. That's the only thing I was pissed about.Posted by Alex on Jul-16-2007 21:49:
Desyn could beat Lawler up.
I just hope gig-skipping behaviour doesn't become more of a trend.
When your job is to lead a party, it's still a job, the only professionalism I care about is the DJ walking in when he/she's supposed to, and treating their fans well, if they choose to take 9 pills during an hour and a half set, so be it, rock on!

Don't get me started on that homeless looking lawler...being talented still obliges you to keep comittments. "You wanna be be big time, you gonna die big time"-The Hoochie Mama who did the vocals on Grade A Bitch.

i remember when lawler was playing tribe, he came on at 11:30 instead of 12:00, and stayed until 3:50 a.m!!!!

Sasha played late, as did Digweed, M.A.N.D.Y., Seb Fontaine, etc...
And who cares if it's at Tribe, they know going in that they aren't going to be expected to play THAT LONG of a set, of course they're going to keep playing a little longer, there's no closer DJ they have to worry about.
