exchange a small amount at the airport just to get by, then take a walk in Toronto and find the best rate for the remainder of your money.

How is Toronto better?

Bleh. You weren't here during the middle of February. Come back then and tell us it's better.

I think we should trade places with the little Dominicans... let them stay here for the winter, and then see how much they love our country later on.

-40 with the wind chill baby... can you handle it?!?

Dude... do you even have the slightest idea what - 40 feels like?

It gets so cold, you can't feel your nose, toes, and hands... the boogers seeping out of you are freezing to your lip, and there are ice crystals forming on your eye lashes.

You shiver uncontrollably, and breathing in is painful because it freezes the moisture in the back of your throat.

It sucks.

A lot.

And A COAT will not make -40 degrees seem like nothing. Try more like... 4-5 layers of clothing.

Seriously, you should take my place here for the winter. What do you do for a living? I can hook you up with a job at my work so long as you know how to speak English well.

I would seriously do it.

Posted by Yohan on Oct-28-2007 20:20:

Remind me to take you winter camping, Ron

Still kinda sucks that I didn't get to chill out with you

BTW, Sasha was... meh. Apparently Beyer wasn't that great either

-40? Are you delusional? I don't think you know what -40 feels like, if the only area you've ever lived/been in is Southern Ont.

Posted by malek on Oct-28-2007 20:50:

oh come on!

We all live in big cities, no one walks outside for more than 5 minutes in -40 because we have cars, underground shopping areas and the subway.

Only hippie loosers/poor/students wait for the bus outside.

The houses are so well isolated that you don't need to turn on the heating system until its minus -5 outside, and even then.

And people dress so badly, that they run after disaster, a good canadian coat, thick(er) pants and a good sweater with waterproof shoes/boots will get the job done.

I was in Syria a few years ago, the temperature was 0 outside and we were dying of cold inside, because house are very badly isolated. In the streets people were complaining of the extreme cold, while I found the weather excellent... they don't know how to dress to deal with the cold weather.

14 January 2004, Quebec: Temperatures plunges to -31.1C (-35.1F) at Quebec City, and -33.2C (-36.2F) at Saguenay. Hydro-Quebec records a new high for power use: 35,137 megawatts.

30 January 2003, Peterborough, Ontario: Temperature falls to -30 C.(-22 F) in which was two C (3.6 F) below the previous records for this date. Several other southern Ontario cities also report record lows.

January 21, 2005 is the coldest day that I have seen in almost 5 years in Kitchener/Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.

Although the Weather Channel on Cable TV said that it was -27C with windchill, it is -36C.

Excuse me, ALMOST -40.

I exaggerated by 4 degrees... please forgive me.

That post makes you sound like such a douche. Only hippie loser students wait for the bus? Get off your high horse dude.

Thousands of people ride the bus, and subways. Not everyone can afford a car, especially when they ARE in school.

And no, people do walk outside for more than 5 minutes... not all of us live in massive cities.

Posted by malek on Oct-28-2007 22:20:

oooh, reread my post dummy, I said people who wait for the bus are students or poor (logically because they can't afford it), unless they take it by choice, hence my hippie loser comical comment.

and over 80% of canadians live in cities, wake up, thats almost everyone.

Posted by malek on Oct-28-2007 22:21:

btw -40 is not unheard of with windchill factor.

There's a significant difference b/w having a windchill of -40 and air temperature of -40.

Furthermore, don't bitch about weather. During its coldest months (2) Toronto averages -9C (I doubt it's much lower for the "hick" parts 1 hrs North of it). You're adults (supposedly) and should be able to dress yourself according to the conditions outside.

Posted by Frenchie on Oct-28-2007 22:46:

I have to dress like a whore all year, maybe that's why I'm so cold.
