Staying motivated. I got about a half dozen graphics projects just sitting on my hard drive, still unfinished and untouched for months. I was trying to learn Adobe Illustrator by spring and that didn't happen. I'm now cramming the last 4 or 5 chapters on my "How to" book to finish learning the program. Need to get it out of the way so I can take the 3D Studio Max class at my College. And that one course is gonna suck up a lot of my time.
And then I have to find another job. Eh, life sucks.

Ever been in a situation where you dreaded doing something and told yourself... "man I wish I could be more motivated"... but then when you actually start doing it you find that it's not so bad after all? Then all of a sudden you've spent quite some time just DOING IT and before long, if you keep it going, it's DONE. Motivation does not come before the action, contrary to what we are all taught, it's in actually DOING THE ACTIVITY that the motivation comes. That applies to everything - be it dj'g, talking in public, writing a book, hitting on Theresa whilst drunk, whatever. |
