"Transitions Vol.3 finds John delivering a peak-time reflection of his current sound, Musically speaking, Ive been shifting through the gears over the series, he says. And were now approaching top speed. This mix still represents an immediate snapshot of my favourite tunes and producers, but its also about that specific energy you get at 3 or 4am at the best clubs or festivals around the world.

To capture and realise this, John worked a whopping 20 tracks into the album. Running the tracklist up so high was a conscious decision, he elaborates, It allowed me to generate that energy and atmosphere, which I further reinforced by creating exclusive edits. Infact every track on T3 has been given the magic touch and then, quite literally, continuously layered into the mix; in the overall running time, the passages where there isnt a mix running are actually shorter than those where they are! Its an intense ride, which in true Digweed fashion builds over its 78-minute excursion

The mix kicks off with a track that personifies its special nature, the elusively titled COMA coma 1. Moving on, further notable highlights from the broad musical spectrum include the innovative use of Lawrences Along The Wire, broken down and part-used throughout its neighbours, Sweet N Candy and Einzelkind; the Dusty Kid / Aldo Kadiz mash-up; Begun The End Has from Harthouse regular Joel Mull; the incredible Josh Wink remix of Someone Else and Gui Borattos emotive interpretation of Adam Freelands latest.

Finally, the finished versions of T3 will also feature a second disc containing a brand new, 25-minute track from the minds of John and Nick Muir, We started on it earlier in the year, says Digweed, And it quite literally grew (and grew!) from there. It reached a point where it seemed better suited to an album, so hit upon the idea of marrying it with T3 as a way of giving something back to our fans.

Theres little question Transitions Vol.3 is John Digweed at his relentlessly, innovative best."

The series has never really had 'new music'. I think the first one did and that's about it. Any bets that COMA - Coma 1 is actually Sasha's track Coma?

Posted by shaw on Jul-23-2007 19:13:

well, I still want new music

or at least stuff that's not getting played by everybody already, as a lot of that is.

Posted by bas on Jul-23-2007 19:30:

It will probably be like number 2, even though a lot of it was getting played, Digweed's 'cheeky edits' made them stand out. Or maybe I'll like it either way because of my man-crush on Digweed?

Posted by shaw on Jul-23-2007 19:50:

idk I'll wait & see...

If this was January, it'd look awesome.

hmm. interesting TL.

Posted by nsamadi on Jul-23-2007 22:23:

I think this is going to be mostly for the mixing..thought it looks a lot more promising then the last two..I think he's making up for the poor job he did on T2 IMO.

The intro looks really nice..thought not diggin the techno and minimal almost at the very end....also that CD2 sounds really nice.

Looks shit hot to me, can't wait for the release now

Yeah. He put Minds on #2 when I had been spinning it last summer, and Chest in the Attic on this release was one I stopped spinning a couple of months ago. Suffice it to say, I'm interested to hear what he's done as far as the mixing and editing goes.

By the way, my man-crush on Digweed is bigger than yours.

I dunno about you guys, but that tracklist looks hawt. Yeah its alot of stuff we know, but it's alot of really GOOD stuff we know.

Chest In The Attic -> Begun The End Has

And the last 4 tracks look like a nice little ending run...

This could be a very nice summary of the 2007 Digweed sound.

I'm not denying that. It's chock full of great music...just heard some of those soooooooo many times by now. That may not be the point, but I'd still like it to be more of a surprise. The idea that because the formula for the last two has been somewhat similar that it's ok if this one does the same is kind of funny, imo, especially since it seems like the stuff on this TL is already less obscure than the stuff on those was when they came out, and we've got another 2 months left for this thing to grow some mold before release.

Cant wait, love T2

Don't think so

Sure it's a lot of stuff that he's been playing for a while now, and some oldies, but thats not the point. If you know Digweed, you know that a 60 minute set of his is not as good as a 3 hour set of him because he takes his time to build it up. The point of this CD (I believe) is that he's going to compress those 3 hours into 78 minutes without skipping a beat, and will keep us on the edge of our seats throughout the whole thing.

The tracks on this compilation won't be they way we've heard them before. It will be layers upon layers of beautiful music that will please everyones ears, even those who have been doubting his movement.

John's current direction is definitely going the right way (more now than ever) towards a more chunkier, heavier, darker feeling. A ride you don't want to miss out on.

T3 will be the best yet.

Maybe this will be the one that does it for me. Quite interested in the Digweed/Muir produciton, too.

Whoa! I am really looking forward to this now.

This is the Album cover..I think:

Posted by shaw on Jul-28-2007 20:54:

an album cover, you say?

Posted by bas on Jul-28-2007 20:58:

anal bum covers?

I think the tracklisting is definitely a strange one for Digweed.

Still on the fence on this - looking forward to hearing it, but keeping my expectations low.

I'm just glad someone has used that Daniela Stickroth tune on a mix comp, cause I love it.

The second disc is a CD-ROM with the 25 min track John & Nick made....as well as unseen video footage of his Mayan gig in LA....from June 06.

Cheers...thought maybe some of you LA freaks would like to know!

SWEEEEETTT!!

Should be good, even though I haven't heard a single one of those tracks.. If it's anything like the previous two, it'll definitely be worth a listen.
