if not, snaffs doesn't sound right either - because again it sounds like more than one "heh". and its too close to snafu.

i don't think there is a correct phrase/word....it's just an onemonapea (words that sounds like sounds)...i.e. BAM! ZORT! and various other batman phrases.

I would say it's just a single chuckle, but then I thought about [see: tried] it and realized that you actually make some small noise when you chuckle. What he's talking about only consists of exhaling...no vocal chords necessary.
