I worked at staples once. They fired me because I wouldn't harass clients to buy scam extended garantees when they clearly expressed to me that they didn't want them.

The only way I could be happy doing that is if I was a psychopath with no sense of empathy whatsoever. Knowing that, I get a little scared every time I step into one of those stores now.

What did you just do a masters in?

What kind of jobs are you going for?

Sports business with finance and development concentration. I want to work in the NHL league office but really any league or team in the NYC area would do. I'm not even THAT picky which department I end up in because once I'm in it's easy to move around...eh this sucks

Heh...

I had an interview last week with Denver's largest sports advertising agency - they were looking to hire a slew of Managers in training. I guess they had a bunch of people they went through and they actually called me back and offered me a job. Starting at $40k a year is pretty damn nice, but fuck if I want to work 60 hours a week shmoozing with clients and being a sports advertising manager...I don't know shit about advertising.

I'm still kind of kicking myself for turning them down though. =/

Unemployment for the fucking lose - hopefully I get this job at a hotel, otherwise I am going to be in some shit soon...

$40k for sports is actually really good which is kind of sad but true. Finished an internship with a team last month, worked 60+ hours a week and didn't have two days off in a row for many weeks at a timebut that is the life if you want to work for teams...I'm willing to be overworked and under paid have a good amount of experience and decent contacts and still nothing. Bastards...

retail isn't so bad as long as you make the declare you are an asshole before you speak to anyone. then it's their fault if they get mad at you for not wanting to stick your tongue in their asshole. if you are going to go through with it, at least wear a badge that says "No, I will not hold your hand" or "No, I really didn't have to explain that" or "Yes, I support the Golden Rule"
I wouldn't know about HomeDepot, but I met my current 1/2employer (who was a customer) working at a computer store.

I'm waiting for word on whether I'm going to be working in the Arctic for 6 months. Dunno exactly what I'll be doing (other than freeze my nuts off) but I should know the answer by end of this week.

The other job I could get is being a security guard. Compared to the Arctic job, the pay and hours are going to be lousy, but one of my friend is the head honcho there so at least I won't have to put up with stupid bullshit as much. (I also kinda outrank him at my other job)
