-- Massive Explosion on 41st
Pages (2): « 1 [2]
yeah not so funny. Being burned has to be the WORST way to be injured/die
I have to admit it was kinda scary whan wai told me there was an explosion and I turned around and saw tons of-what I thought was smoke- on the tv.

PWNED
Talk about giving the terrorists some ideas...
"Hey Ahmed, you got the cold water? Were gonna fuck em up good!"
i work in the metlife building right above GCT. my office mate comes into our office at 6 pm and just calmly says, "there's an explosion down the street, it's time to go," and he disappears just as quickly as when he popped his head in. everyone on my floor just books it to the fire escape. everything was orderly, and we had to walk down 39 floors. once at street level, another co-worker and i walked outside to lexington. since 45th and lex were shut down to traffic at this point, everyone just stood in the middle of the street and stared down lexington. cops were telling everyone to stay off manhole covers for fear of another explosion. the amount of dirty steam spewing was unbelievable to see, even if four blocks away. it kept sounding like a train pulling into a train station, that's how loud it was. kind of surreal experience.
sorry to hear about this, especially for those injured or otherwise, special prayer goes out those effected
Just goes to show how dangerous our infrastructure can be. I heard about the explosion at work today right after it happened. One person is in fact confirmed dead and more than 20 others injured. I really hope they don't find large amounts of asbestos in the area.....not a good situation at all! And to think that I work around this environment everyday.
