| anyone know how long the dirve from the SF airport to the Parade/civic center is??? the hotel rates are 3 times less by the air port(300-400$ vs 100$and free parking), Mapquest says 15 min drive???anyone think it would be stupid staying by the airport then driving back and forth to the parade?? I only hope its not a 50$ cab ride each way??!! |

One thing I would suggest is getting your name put on the cancellation list just in case
Just put them on all the decent hotels within walking distance. That way when you get the call you can make the switch =)
Hotels in the city are hella expensive right now! I live here and started looking two months ago..It is high season in SF..tourists , a major convention, in addition to lovefest and folsom street fair..expect to pay exorbitant rates unless you get out of the downtown area...Hotels I payed $129 last year are $400 this year!
Yes, it would seem even the hotels have gotten in to the act and jacked prices as well. You may have luck if you have waited this long to wait until a couple days before and use hotels.com and hotwire.com They will be looking to fill any left over room they may have. And I am sure you will find they will have some. Good luck.
i ended up paying over 300 a night for a room. my flight from florida was significantly cheaper. good luck
