The place was rammed at 3:30 (the irony is so thick I'm choking) and the venue staff was pushing to shut it down (or at least that's what it appeared to be from every direction), to which either Richie came off or they pulled the plug at 3:40 to a pissed off full house.

Obviously this is a different situation/relationship with the venue (and time has passed) but I'm just hoping you guys don't have any kinks like that as imo the venue was relatively perfect up until that moment.

ps. addy and ned kick ass

ADD is not involved in 'Exposed'. They will continue to be doing the occasional event, but in reality their shows are usually a lot different than what we will be doing on a weekly basis. Also, from what I gather - we will have a different staff (including door, security, etc.).

The people involved in this new weekly would not tolerate that type of behavior from security, and i'd expect nothing but respect from the crew that will be working at Exposed. If Carey says regular nights are going until 4am, then that's the absolute earliest the lights will come on.

Yeah I know, I acknowledged this... I was more or less giving a headsup to those involved.

Mod Club is awesome!!

Me: Hi! Can I get a Rum and Coke

Bartender: No Problem! *Pouring rum into glass* Just tell me when to stop.

Me: *Doesn't say anything until there is very little room enough for a tiny bit of coke*

Make sure to tip people!

hi there

to answer your question from our end (promoter) the night ended when richie finished his set, no one told him to stop playing and we had no plans on putting another dj on after him. he did his encore and could have easily extended a little longer without any objection.

sometimes our nights there have ended at 2:30, and we have gone as late as 4:30am. it really depends on the artist and the night.

with the security being pushy we have no control over that or who they hire to work there. that is the venues responsibility and any issues should be directed at the management (www.themodclub.com)

thnx

I would like to preface this by saying I have no problem with ADD whatsoever. I love the events you guys throw, and I was ecstatic when I heard that you guys had booked Richie. However, when a customer has a negative experience at your party, and associates it with your name, you should do what you can to defuse that negative buzz surrounding your name. You shouldn't deflect the complaint to another organization.

thnx for your kind words and support highroller

how i read the original issue it sounded like the person was upset about richie being forced to finish early, and we can definitely assure you that was not the case.

we do think that people should contact the venues directly when they have complaints especially about security, when we get emails about problems to do with this or any other venue specific issue we always forward them to the appropriate people who can address it. the more they hear about it the likelier they are to fix the problem.

we have brought stuff up directly with security in the past but in reality we are not their employer and our words to them don't hold as much weight (if any) as if they come from the person who cuts their paycheck, hence the reason i posted the link to the venue.

thnx!

Many thanks for taking the time to clarify what happened... I guess I'm just used to seeing a DJ wanting to play for longer, not the opposite. Of course I wasn't taking into consideration the Richie Hawtin ultra weird factor.

I agree completely, thank you again ADD.

I really really want to apologize for this little tangent taking place in this thread. If it makes any difference, I am MUCH less sketchy now about Mod Club and am more likely to attend an Exposed because of it.
