Where is the BBC, Bloomberg, Reuters, Al Jezera, CNN ... or even FOX?
Of all those stations Fox should have picked up on this story.
The whole thing smells of hoax to me and just plays up the western tradition of assuming that what is not familiar is clearly barbaric, uneducated, and uncivilized.
For clarity, this gets under my skin because I see it as a further preperation for an offensive on Iran. The tone in the media has been far edging this way for a long time and to see stories about aresting squirls as apposed to talk of the civil contributions of persian history to what we now claim to be western advancements is a little disturbing.
EDIT: my mistake, there is a columnist for the washington post who seems to be the source of the story. He claims that "BBC translators" were his source but I have yet to find any BBC story about this. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/07/19/AR2007071902453_3.html
