kristina...
why do you rely on others so much to give you a ride? you almost imposed yourself on jeff to give you a ride.
do you always rely on others when you need to leave the house?
are there no buses around your area? im pretty sure there are since you live near york university and other students seem to have no problem getting around the city.
no taxis around your area either?
do you not drive?
how about your bf?
it seems to me for the last couple events, you have been relying on other people on the forum for a ride or you wont go out.

because i have to watch this shit happen in a public forum and its quite annoying to witness.
some people need to stop depending on others so much.

i have.

buddy dropped out then she did because he's not going. then you go on rant about how she is too dependent on other people. is that really necessary?

yes because it has happened more than once.
its not the first time that she has asked for a ride to an event. pretty much every event she relies on others to give her a lift.

Jay,
I never go out unless I have means of getting back home, even if I have to TTC to get there first, which I still do
I won't go out on my own to events because cab rides cost a fortune (I've already had an experience of a $70 cab drive on my own from guv).. taking TTC back would mean leaving at 1am to catch the last bus back to York U area

Mike works late on weekdays and won't go out with me

when I ask for a ride, I always try to chip in (either gas money or paying for a parking, ask Oreo or Jeff)

I'm sorry if you find this annoying, I'll take it to msn next time

Jay's been laying the smackdown lately

Posted by exstasie on Jul-24-2007 19:31:

Jay does have a point. (This is not direct at Funky as I do offer to drive her and stuff and would tell her if i didn't want to give her a ride :P). In general though, it is quite frustrating when people constantly ask you for rides and stuff and expect a ride everywhere.
This is just for going clubbing and stuff but in general.

I don't mind if I offer people rides or to people who i'm friends with, but there are times when people I barely know come up to me and ask me if I can drive them home, when they don't even live anywhere near me and expect me to just cause I have a car and i'm a nice guy haha.

Lots of my friends (non-clubbers) don't even have licenses and expect me to drive to them or drive around to other places. They don't even offer to pay for gas or just chip in a few bucks here and there! It costs quite a few dollars to drive these days if you have to add up the cost of gas/insurance/payments/maintenance/parking/parking tickets/etc.

Not to mention the fact that you can't passout like everyone else on the way home haha. I've driven through some crazy weather on my way home from parties :P

well you can always say no, as simple as that
anyhow, lots of ppl carpool around here, I guess I do it more often since I don't have a car at all, but as I said I always try to chip in as a thank-you for taking me onboard
