I actually really like the new place. The only thing that I didn't like is the three cement support things ( sorry not an accurate term ) in the middle of the room. They make the dancefloor seem really small. The sound was actually pretty good you just have to be on the indise. Definitely has a different and I would say better feel than ten but its still the "oc" crowd.

Some things may be "better" than others at a venue. Its kinda hard to look better than Tentation.

Tentation looks clean. Kinda has a Vegas architecture touch.

From the looks of the place it kinda looks comparable to the EDM room @ Belo in SD. Bad AC is no good!

I just hope they don't go wayyyy over capacity when a popular DJ comes though. I hate bumping elbows with other on the dance floor. Thats why I kinda like the last hour when many have left and the DJ goes out with a bang!

Any club that has bad sound should give out refunds.. hehe

All I know from first and last time I went there, if Tall Pall was playing, he might not even fit in the building

You cannot cover up shit with sugar and call it candy, as people will eventually find it is not candy

Son, you live like 2 seconds away, you are the OC crowd. LOL! The place is going to be off the hook and things will be better in the long run. I guess if you are gonna judge things because the ceiling is too low you are gonna miss out on a lot. The OC night is not intended to be at the scale of Vanguard for Pete's sake, its an intimate setting and a new market for dance music. Give a ninja a break already! Tentation had shit lighting and sound none of the amenities that are there now where there 8 months ago, but since they weren't making any money those improvements got pulled out of someone's ass I guess. In any case, we will rock that joint and am sure most will be pleased with what develops .

I wish there was something like that, its what south cali is missing imo. Ive been to hip hop clubs like that and they are amazing, EDM needs something dirty.

Club Vegas on Thursday night was faaaaaaaaaar from the typical OC crowd. I only spotted like 3 girls with fake boobs and hardly any OC Boys with their Ed Hardy skin tight tees and faux-hawk.

Club Vegas is a better venue for Giant than Tentation. Tentation is meant to be a lounge, and simply that.. anything more than that would be too much!

there is this place called the larchmont that fits this profile that i can direct you too

well, just subtract the good djs and crowd and this is your spot

There is also a big difference in a crowd depending on who the DJ is and whether it is a trace vs. house DJ.

Went to the place Thursday for Markus:

-Hot as hell
-Sound was terrible
-Smoke blew out from the front under the stage every minute and you couldn't breathe.
-If you're not the front 5 people, you're vision is obscured by pillars.
-People there were out to be "social" and to "rave" and didn't give a shit about what all of us on here are for.
-There were almost as many people in the hip-hop room. What a fun blend of people!!

Positives: drinks were cheap in comparison to other places.

I, for one, won't be attending another Giant night at Vegas and I wish it were different since I live in OC.

I liked the place a lot actually... miles from Tentation. Yeah, Tentation looks all nice and chic, but it gets way too overcrowded. Vegas has lots more room and overall I think it's a great place for the type of events that are held there.

To my knowledge, all the other issues, especially sound and lighting, are being addressed... so more to look forward to!

They have a hip hop room? They didn't have it at Bad Boy Bill did they? I don't remember it playing any hip hop.

Yep! When you first walk in, the area to the right is the other room "hip-hop" with another dj. There was a pretty good size crew in there too!

YAY for hip hop!!!

I'm actually not a complainer and am out on all of the dancefloors with a smile--and having the time of my life every weekend! Ask anyone!! Every club has it's plusses and minuses but I was absolutely miserable at Vegas. The thread was about what we thought of Vegas and that is my opinion.
