And as for ferry play8ing to a crowd of 25,000.. i assume u mean all the people from the several states that he played in, and at home club (not sure if he did... :/) all together.. cause when he played at sydney.. seemed like only 1-2,000 in that dome...

No, there are plenty of people in Australia who "recognise" trance.

But I said "mainstream". i.e all the little electro-house kiddies are starting to have an appreciation for trance, where previously they thought it was hard style/hard nrg.

Ferry played to a single crowd of 25,000 in Melbourne, in March, at Sidney Myer Music Bowl.

i would say there were at least 15000 people on the hill seeing his set at the bowl in melbourne

Vapor Recordings, nuff said.

Although, despite the enormous number of EDM exports for progressive / breaks/ psy-trance amongst others, the local scene still bewilders me.

According to friends studying in Melbourne / Sydney and various other metropolitans, there's a lot of cheesy hard dance / hard trance around and this seems to be the norm?

Someone please enlighten me.

Hahahaha...YES.

It's the gayest shit ever. There are so many fucking candy ravers in Melbourne it's not funny.

Believe me, it's not the "norm" though. At the moment, in most mainstream clubs, electro-house and new rave/indie are the most popular.

Depends a lot on where abouts u live. It's not so bad in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth. But really, by international standards in US, and much of Europe it's not huge here.

We're more of a pubbing country I think, not so mcuh a trance nation. Our scene tends to be separate in a lot of ways, I mean a lot of ppl will mention names to you like Nick Skitz etc. etc. in the mainstream. The real good stuff, like Chable and Skydive a lot of ppl won't know.

but again, it depends what city ur in.
I'm stuck up here in the north
