That's how you DJ, OK! You build a night, and you bring a night down!
I don't see how your two statements relate. You can build a night by playing trance as well can't you? If I was playing a classic trance release party I would stick solely to trance for the most part. I can understand why most people would be ticked off, considering if they didn't want to wait until 3 am to hear trance..

For the most part... he DID play trance!
My statements make perfect sense. You build a night playing slower less popular tracks, IE. House, then build into trance, which he played for a good 4+ hours, then bring it down a notch and play more slower tunes towards the end of the night again. What's so wrong with that?
The man spun for like 7 friggin hours (whatever, he played a long-ass time on those decks!). So stop your fucking crying, because the trance that he did play was unfuckingbelievable! And to hear people bitch about some house being played, or 1 or 2 tracks they disliked...

Ummmm, pretty much all the tracks he played were brought out of retirement. And how exactly would you have been disappointed? If there were no trance, no friends, crappy sound, too packed, and the DJ sucked??? well none of that happened... you missed out on probably one of the BEST trance nights to grace this city this year!

'Most' is more than half the night, Kris Actually, I think he played more house than trance

I was right by the floor bassbins most of the night... and my vibrating body was more imortant than the sound quality on these videos
When they announced the CD giveaway... which I was the first to get

Could be. There's so many remixes of Seven Cities around
BTW, dude, you were missed. (well, during the time Mark O played trance)
And Fahad. That mofo would have def. gone nuts.
Oh, I just remembered. My first time being searched by Guv security inside the main room b/c the dude thought I was dealing. LMAO.
I was probably the most sober Asian kid in the entire complex.
And I was sitting on one of the side speakers and some dude comes up to me and he's like, 'Dude, I'll take one E,' like he thought I was for sure dealing.
There are so many disadvantages of being Asian sometimes lol

ppl just commented about him playing house for the larger beginning chunk of the night (the night is classic trance night)
and it's MO... I cannot stand his sets either way
plus I don't think anything could have beaten Together as One, Kyau vs. Albert, or even Menno, as the best trance sets of the year Posted by Yohan on Jul-30-2007 01:23:

but seriously for you to come into a review thread and somewhat bashin' a d.j/night that you weren't even a part of is very questionable...

First, it was MO's Best of Trance CD release party... not a classic trance night! (which, for the most part, was anyway)

I been to all those nights too Kris, and this one blew them all out of the water! Last night was no "typical" MO set!

first of all Kudos to MO for playing some of the most amazing classics.....I deliberately came at 2 bc I knew he would warm up with a housey set which is fine guys REMEMBER T.O IS A FUCKIN HOUSE CITY and MO is Guvs resident DJ he can play whatever the fuck he wants....You have to find a trance night in T.O nowdays and when you do you just show up at the right time like I did and enjoy it ....loved all the tracks except No one on earth i can't stand that tune ....also don't like the Seven Cities remix but it was refreshing to hear that than the AVB remix!!!
Missed my jenners you would have tore it up girl!!! and Hooper awwww so sad u couldn't make it really were there in spirit Katy and I even had a danceoff in your honour....great seeing all the TA's ...Del you can bust it like its no ones business!!!.....Nick good luck with everything trust me parties come and go your education is most important!!!
my ladies love you all to pieces....honestly we have mastered the art to deal with the guvy crowd...srsly one question tho do ppl just get off the boat in Canada and come str8 to guv holy fuck FOB CENTRAL that's what it felt like most of the night but I can block that off but if you can't then you need to find somewhere else to go.....
Overall I had a blast like Chris mentioned MO delivered an amazing trance set
and I have to say Danielle you have made MO close his set with that track atleast 10 times now I am not even joking....the song must be retired
see you all at LOL Posted by Angx on Jul-30-2007 03:27:
We got to the guv by 12. As suspected Mark oliver was playing crappy house...go figure...this continued on till about 1:45, so just as I was about to leave he started finally playing some trance. I do not understand why he would even bother playing that late when there are so many primo tracks out there that he could have played.
I think he was also getting annoyed with us since we were booing his ass and bothering him to start playing trance...Oh well...You advertise Trance so thats what we went there for...next time just play with what you are going to advertise.
Props for playing a great trance set...and now back to the crappy house...
