Seriously though, everything mentioned in this thread looks pale in comparison to what would happen if the chap got out alive afterwards.

You are tied up in a standing position such that you cannot move at all. A small bath is next to you, containing one hungry piranha. Your foot is put in the bath and the piranha allowed to feast. THen the other leg. Then both arms, then rest of you.

The wound is burnt shut to prevent blood loss.
If you pass out, the torture is stopped and continued once you wake up.

When the body experiences extreme pain usually the human body cuts off this pain due to the shock element.

Starving to death would be bad because you would loose your eyesight, ad then you would go deaf etc it takes days to die without water, also all of your organs would fail and you would still be alive, prob even brain dead, as your heart would still be beating.

So I would say Bullet hole in the stomach and then left to die underground for a couple of days, that would really be painfull.

I remember in Wizard's First Rule (Sword of Truth Series by Terry Goodkind). There were these bitches called Mord-Sith that were trained since 12 yrs old in the art of torture.
Some of the shit described in that book, that were done to the main character, we just awful from what I remember. They had this magic-wand thing that would cause agonizing pain anywhere it touched, and your blood to blister on your skin. Anyway, good shit - the author is obviously demented.
