you sir deserve a kick in the ass...as for an argument i was simply stating that although they wear padding they are extremely athletic and far from being "pussies." i don't give a shit if you care about my opinion that is a fact.

they re athletic and fast and still wear 20 pounds of cushion?? SURELY if they had any sense they would revolve the game around these two abilities rather than being able to slam into each other, and be proud of it.
you're right. how non-pussyish

Posted by Sunsnail on Aug-07-2007 19:30:

They get enough injuries as it is.

you're fucking retarded. it's so obvious you don't understand the game of football yet you're trying to somehow argue against it.

please stfu.

we're retarded idiots because we took the time to understand and appreciate something?

incredible.

yes, in MY mind, you ARE retarded idiots since you took the time to understand and appreciate something that in MY mind is a stupid waste of time.

Not incredible, just plain simple.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion but the validity of their opinion heavily relies on their knowledge of the subject matter.

smakmagik - you are entitled to dislike football, I don't like baseball but I think that has a lot to do with me not completely understanding the game.

Precisely.
The validity of me calling you a retarded idiot might not be that great in your eyes. But it is still my opinion.
It's the whole IMO business again.
I'll let it go.

I'm a retarded idiot, uh no I'm not even a football fan. For you to go around calling people names just because you don't understand something is childish. It is your opinion though and I respect that I just think you are wrong and my opinion in turn should be respected

Posted by infinity HiGH on Aug-07-2007 19:46:

There's a difference between ignorance and actually having an opinion on something. You just hate it because you want to hate it. Stop hiding your ignorance and stupidity behind the "my opinion" argument.

smakmagik, if you would sit down, and try to understand the whole point of American football, then you would see that it takes the basics of rugby style, but with a little twist of some additional rules and regulations away from traditional rugby.

In American football, it's not just about speed and strength. It's also about the mind. There is a reason why the New England Patriots won 3 Super Bowls in this decade. They clearly didn't have the strongest or fastest team in the league. Their quarterback doesn't have the strongest arm. However, how did they win all those trophies? The coach is probably one of the best NFL head coaches in the past 30 years. He knows how to play the mind games, and pull out the right plays when it is needed.

No disrespect against rugby, because I think it's a real powerful sport, but you cannot say that rugby is far superior than American football.

Posted by infinity HiGH on Aug-07-2007 19:50:

Plus, to be honest. I'm willing to bet that the only reason you think so is because it's an American sport.

Nope, sorry.
I love baseball.
I'm sure you get people hating things just because they 're American, but I'm not one of them.
Not with respect to sport atleast

Every single sport has its advantages and nuances that make a certain section of people like/follow it. Someone here said they dont follow baseball, but I'm sure a baseball fan could formulate a very similar reply to the one you posted in baseball's favour. It's just that I dont find it interesting nor entertaining nor a reason to spend my time on. Just my opinion as I said.

I may not be a baseball fan but I've taken the time to try and enjoy the game. I don't put the sport and its fans down because of my own ignorance nor do I take anything away from the athleticism it takes to excel at the game.

There aren't. There's football and then there's baseball. Both are retarded, although football is the lesser of the 2 evils.

The only watchable sport that's broadcasted here regularly is Basketball, and even that is unwatchable anymore because of the piss poor refereeing.

agreeable. people are entitled to their own opinions. I am not much of a baseball fan myself. I will catch the occasional games here and there, and follow the stats, but that's about it. Not much of a motivational baseball fan.

As for hockey, that's a different story. I don't know where my life would be if I lived in a hockey oriented environment. Living in places where the only type of ice that's available is the local 7-11 in an Ice Box, I don't think I had a fair share of hockey fed into me.
