-- A new track! Based on Mozart's Requiem...
Pages (2): « 1 [2]
I'm playing out with Kuffdam on Aug 24th,
Any chance I can get the 320kbps version to play out ?
very nice work, I really enjoyed this one.
btw, you probably did it unintentionally, but the melody starting at ~1:24 sounds a lot like Oceanlab - Satellite.
needing some new elements....melody is nice
Still sounds like you have a few clahses on the high end and the bottom end sounds a little empty in terms of accompanying bass.
Bassline could be a little more imaginative, a little bit too standard.
Nice work though.
Cheers

Thanks everyone. This is the biggest improvement so far:
Added the original Requiem instead of the pad part at the break.
Changed bassline (Thanks Nemesis)
Improved Kick, Hihat, Lead, general sound and mix, and more powerful altogether.
224kbps

Hmmm, its sounding very nice. What people don't seem to realise is that the Sensation anthem is actually based on this classical piece... duh!
Or maybe they do, what do I know.
Getting back to your production. I am actually quite excited about thsi but I still feel that there are issues with it, more to do with arrangment than anythning else.
The intro could be a little more eventful and although those pauses can be effective you do it too much. They way you introduce the synths is a little just "Whoomp" here you go. You don't tease enough.
The other thing is that although you have chosen a classical piece of epic proportions I still don't feel like you have truly capitalised on the material you have to work with.
The main part is way to short and doesn't really give you long enough to get really into the track.
I know it's a work in progress, but at the moment the transitions in the song are just too slapdash and you need to focus on the details of the track. How you introduce stuff and so on.
Keep at it though as I'm not saying it's bad, on the contrary. But it could be a whole lot better. Still doesn't give me that pro feel to it.

I was impressed with it mate. I have also done a version of Requiem about a year ago and its on my myspace page at: www.myspace.com/bassjunctionmusic if you wanna check it out.
Peace
Gave this another listen, I also found your bass and kick to be extremely muddy. The kick has no snap to it.
But overall the track is nice.
Cheers
