| Originally posted by b1_ I'm getting into House but still like my Trance just fine, just want a bit more funk, beats and kick to my music . If anyone can recommend some that would be much appreciated. I really like anything by Eric Prydz, like Ironmen and Shadows, or his remixes of Can't Remember or 1983. Anyone know any more good house producers for a newbie? |
Die Hard trance fan right hear.
I like both a lot, although I end up buying new House much more often than new Trance. I end up playing mostly 99-early 2000s Trance, with a bit of Psy and early 90s stuff mixed in.
I like that I can fit just about any moood with a House track. I can get really loungy or really peak-time funky, with lots of room in-between. With Trance I don't see that variety. Sure, there's the beach-side Trance, and the Hard Trance at the other end, but it just seems harder to play on moods with Trance, especially when all of the songs are vying for the title of "biggest, most epic breakdown EVAR!"

I think what a lot of you guys don't understand is outside of trance fans and people on this website there are a whole wack of people who just listen to house and never listened to trance or every cared about it. They just always liked house.

Was getting into house, but got bored with it. Trance just interests me more. But downtempo/chill out/ambient interests me even more than trance. Kind of tired of it and the newer stuff doesn't do it for me anymore. Once you've heard the same track over and over, you get sick of it. Chill out and ambient have more variety...some more melodic and ethereal, others jazzier and more rhythmic.
me. house and techno.
I'm not "into" genres, I'm "into" good music.
i love trance, but i'm a househead. i started out listening to trance and will always love it cause there is nothing like good trance and how it makes you feel, but since i have started mixing house and its various sub genres, i find that there is nothing i love more than a fly house track. just makes me wanna dance all the time!

Never could seem to get into house, I just don't like it. Got a few old acid house tracks from way back but that's about it for me.
progressive house ftw!
cheeze/epic trance > armin style trance > tech trance (which I still like alot btw) > tech house > PROG house
i don't know what it is about prog house that just does it for me. It's so much more moving than trance imo. The basslines are so much more accentuated and vivid, and any shift in 'progression' just takes it that much further
edit: Papllion - Stephan Bodzin
check this out.
Also, his new album 'Liebe ist' really explains what im talking about
I started liking house about 2 years ago, but I'm no hardcore fan. Absolutely way more into trance than house.
Anyone know any regular House radio shows? Basically I'm after sources of the latest stuff.
What's the difference between House and Techno btw? I like House because it gets you moving more than Trance I think. Trance is all about the brain overload thing. Sensation. Goosebumps etc.
