lolman. Derringers have beaten every web deal I have thrown at them, even a specials catalogue from brisound.com.au from 2004 which listed event tr-6s $150 below any other shop in Australia.

They expect you to haggle their tits off, so they list everything high. Yet to find anywhere cheaper than derringers, other than ebay.

what headphones do u guys recommend?

currently looking at the sennheiser HD-280's

Posted by Trance Nutter on Aug-17-2007 10:18:

they're not bad, a lot of people recommend them
Have really good isolation apparently which is probably good for your ears cos you can run them at lower volumes

I'm still sticking by the Sony MDR-V6 though

Posted by narcism on Aug-17-2007 10:23:

i still love these

hands down the rpdh 1200's are the best i have used and are my current ones. i used to have the sony 700's until someone broke them, but have used senheiser hd25's technics rpdj 1200, sony 500's, pioneers, and these technics ones blow everything out of the water that i have used.

**edit: the headphones im referring to would be for dj use. im not sure what best options would be for production use as im all about big fkn studio monitors blairing out for referencing tunes

For djing? Theyre great. I can't remember the exact specs, but they block out an god-like ammount of ambience, so the potential to save your hearing is great. They clamp onto the side of your head, so obviously more noise is blocked out than say... HS-25s which just sit on your ears. If theyre for listening, get AKG 240S.

i am not an expert by any stretch of imagination. but i was recommended the HD-25s amd i love them. 3 years old and theyre still in mint condition. great isolation in a club. durable.

I use Sennheiser EH-150. I don't like the way they fit over my ears. They seem to clamp tightly, and after listening to music for some time, my ears start to pain a bit. The ear pads are also a bit small and uncomfortable. Dunno if other sennheiser products have a similar design, but I would think twice before buying any of their other products.
