College football does suck. We know who is going to the national championship now.

Posted by Thierry on Sep-30-2007 18:00:

Can't believe so many Top 10 teams lost... god damn Auburn. What happened to our offense?? Geez... guess it'll have to be LSU that destroys USC in the Sugar Bowl.

The Big Ten is so bad this year, it's really embarrassing. I think Illinois will come out as second in the conference this year if they can hold off Wisconsin this weekend.

it's funny because our football team has traditionally sucked, but we are actually winning games this year and people are starting to get excited. i think it's been kind of a fluke, but who knows. you never disappoint yourself when you have low expectations.

I'd rather USC win.. i hate LSU with a passion too...

I'd like for the Zookers to run the table in the big 10... im not a huge fan of osu or wisc either..

I would be like you... but I hate USC with a passion! Overrated Pac-10. All they know how to do is destroy Big 10 teams in bowl games. I want Florida or LSU to roll them.

Ah, you go to Illinois? I'm an Illini fan (mostly basketball though). They're definitely the second-best team in the conference these days. I knew they'd be alright this year... but the combination of the conference being so bad and the young guys on the Illini stepping up has made this year pretty special so far. And hopefully that continues tomorrow with Wisconsin (who, despite being #5 in the country, is a 2.5 point underdog against Illinois).

i'm at U of I for one year getting my masters.

maybe we will be ranked after knocking off two straight ranked opponents.

go LSU! they proved their #1 ranking, beating Florida on Saturday. Defense looked solid most of the game, and Ryan Perriloux displayed his strength as a running quarterback with a touchdown.

Posted by jonze on Oct-09-2007 03:39:

finally hit the charts at #18. one more win to be bowl eligible. looks like this is a good season for us, at least a lot better than everyone predicted.

Posted by Thierry on Oct-26-2007 13:08:

To continue this amazing season, this weekend lines up several more epic games on the schedule so lets get some thoughts and predictions on the weekend

World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party - #9 Florida V #20 Georgia:
Being a Gators fan, I gotta say King Tebow will lead us to a slaughter of the Bulldogs. 2 TDs spread at least!! But this game is always a good watch. GO GATORS!!!

#9 Southern California V #5 Oregon:
This will be a massive game. The times I've watched Oregon, they have been great. The spread offence has really revolutionized NCAA football. I really hate USC and have always thought they are overrated so I gotta go with the Ducks in Eugene! This will end the Trojans dreams of even a PAC10 title hopefully.

#15 South Carolina V Tennessee:
Just because I love the Ol Ball Coach and HATE Fat Fulmer, I just gotta say I hope the Gamecocks drop 50 on Tenn. I think Vandy was a blip and Tennessee's smackdown by Alabama will be an ongoing trend. USC continues to cloud up the SEC.

#6 West Virginia V #25 Rutgers:
UConn of all teams is 1st in the Big East hence the birth into the Orange Bowl, but they are pretenders will get smacked by South Florida this weekend so this game will have HUGE aftershocks into the Big East since each has 1 loss. Slaton & White are both healthy and playing, but Rutgers is tough in NJ. West Virginia is just too inconsistent so I gotta go with tricky Schiano and the Scarlet Knights.

#1 Ohio State V #24 Penn State:
The #1 BCS team finally gets their test this year and they ALWAYS struggle in Happy Valley. This will be a battle typical of the Big 10. In this year of upsets, what the hell... lets go with the Nittany Lions to continue this messed up year and crush the BCS season.

#18 California V # 7 Arizona State:
One of the other unbeatens gets a test from the always inconsistent Bears. I think Dennis Ericksen continues his team's winning ways and will make the BCS look like #1 Boston College V #2 Arizona State, leaping over a 1-loss LSU team.

Cheers,
Terry

Boom, and there goes the BCS #1!

Posted by jonze on Nov-11-2007 04:36:

haha, looks like the buckeyes were looking past us.

oh boy. from the way it looks, if Kansas and Oklahoma runs the table the rest of the way before the big 12 championship, then the winner of the kansas-oklahoma match will play against either lsu or oregon.

as much as i do want to see lsu play for the national championship this year, i would most likely want to see an oregon-oklahoma rematch of last year's great match.

You think the winner of the Big 12 will leap over either Oregon or LSU? I think only if Kansas is the winner as they would be undefeated and be at least 2. But I don't think Oklahoma will jump up over either team. I think it'll be LSU V Oregon in the end of things if LSU doesn't get clipped in the SEC championship game.

BTW, great to see Boston College lose again. Pure pretenders they were from day 1 of this season.

nah i think either lsu or oregon may lose in the next couple of weeks. there's no possible way oklahoma or kansas can jump over lsu or oregon if they win the rest of their games. Oregon still has Arizona, UCLA, and Oregon state, where anything can happen of course. we all know what happens to the #2 team this year ...... hah

as for lsu, they have ole miss and arkansas, where mcfadden can burst out at anytime. after that, the sec championship game against maybe tennessee, if they can win the rest of their games (tennessee beat georgia earlier this year, so they win the tiebreak). i guess we'll see what happens in the next couple of weeks......

Wow, what an amazing, topsy-turvy season in college football and there's only two pages devoted to this?

I was hoping to come here and be swarmed with at lest 20 pages.

What a great season it's been! So many upsets and rivalries and wins and losses and injuries. My god.

Well that's all I've got for now.

like i said. mcfadden had a big day today against a suspect lsu defense. good game btw. . btw it looks, it may come down to the winner of kansas-missouri and west virginia for the national championship, which is very surprising, because these 3 teams were not even close to being noted during september.

tomorrow is a big test for west virginia though. all they need to do is win against a tough conneticut team, and they seal their deal as one of the 2 teams playing for the national championship. if they lose, looks like ohio state will make a major jump up the standings without playing any games. many people though ohio state's game against michigan proved to not be helpful for their ranking, but after how things have unraveled, it may be important now.
