His work's definitely set the bar in his genre (they don't call it Electro, so whatzit?) a bit higher than the what the multitude have been used to...

His mix of Daft Punk's Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger is insane!!!! Watch this http://youtube.com/watch?v=J9SqJCxKF5A

I've been trying to get through to someone in his agency/management/website for a while - to book him for a festival... but seems like nobody's home.

Too bad... he would've blown apart the beaches in Goa.

He's done some pretty good production, but otherwise I'm going to agree with mike that he's really overrated. Faxing berlin sounded like a cheesy ASOT trance track and everybody's digging it for some reason.

very talented producer witha nice sound to him. shame he blew up so big. would have liked a chance to find his music before the vultures did.

I am in this video, and this post is what id like to repeat. Deadmau5 blew us away. One of the top sets of wemf for sure.

Deadmau5 has that sound i've & a lot of edm fans been looking for. He rocked my socks off in person. I am a fan for life.

As a person he is a very down to earth guy and very nice. He did a set for us live on webcam with un-released tunes. Expect to see this guy blow up in the following years...the pvd of our time.

That's very reassuring.

I ment the pvd we all knew and loved years and years ago. Deadmau5 looks like he will stay true to his fans and the music.

Paul used to lead the scene with his innovating and new sound.. unfortunately what he does now is not where we want to be lead and its the opposite of what most of pvd fans wanted...

Deadmau5 once again has a sound we are all loving at this time when the people who used to be at the forefront of the scene are all making shitty tunes. He is still new & fresh, not yet corrupted.

If he remains on this track i see big things for him..

What makes you think that? Just curious...

Like i said ive talked to the guy in person, he's a very cool cat and approachable, a kind of guy id hang out with.

He seems very dedicated to his music and has been in this for a long time (7 or 8 years) and only recently has he gotten any attention, i think that shows dedication.

Well, I'm sure he is very enthusiastic at his young age. Let's just hope over time he keeps up the good work and doesn't degrade like a lot of others have. I think it's important to keep things interesting by doing new things, otherwise you fall into a trap like a lot of artists do.You can tell the only thing keeping them in the business is the money and fame. I don't know about you but I couldn't play the same sh*t day in and day out for 10 straight years, let alone 1!

Posted by danj.l on Aug-17-2007 22:28:

Yeah i agree with you. I think we would agree on alot of things.

Posted by Creamfields23 on Aug-17-2007 22:51:

Ha finally a thread here that I agree for 100%.

Deadmau5 keep up the DAMN TASTY good work. I laughed so hard to his comment on youtube at Nubreed.

It has THAT VIBE! Just like your avatar which I presume YOU love.

I don't know his background or how he has gotten to know Tommy Lee and the many many other amazing people he knows but he has accomplished a SHIT LOAD for his age. I think everyone dreams of accomplishing what he has in such time.

Posted by InDeepSpace on Aug-18-2007 00:28:

Faxing Berlin definately is cool tune, well see how hes doin in da future, but Faxing Berlin is deffo one of da best trance tunes of the year.

Posted by gehzumteufel on Aug-18-2007 01:04:

faxing berlin ehh not so much. Community Funk (Deadmau5 Remix) much better. also Vanishing Point is another good one. i dont like the trancey asotish tracks such as faxing berlin. id much rather hear the more housey tracks.

Posted by DOOMBOT on Aug-18-2007 01:16:

I heard his Daft Punk Remix last night on a great sound system and it sounded top notch.

But Deadmau5 definitely comes close.

Eric Prydz was the first thing i thought of when I heard "Jaded".

The guy in the beginning of the video with a muscle shirt on and a hat backwards is basically the reason why I've stopped going to "well-flyered" edm shows.

Edit: wait, never mind. Not just him - pretty much everyone in that video.

Posted by kadomony on Aug-18-2007 04:06:

been a fan since early january with 1981 and really like some of his lesser known techno tracks like "Plus".

Might as well be a new song.

Posted by Nik Novo on Aug-18-2007 08:38:

Personally, I think he's overrated. So far I've only heard tracks that were ok, but nothing special.

Btw. how do you speak that name "Deadmau5"? I've always been wondering if its Deadmau-five, or if the 5 is supposed to be a 1337-S which would lead to Deadmaus...
