I watched my friend [try to] eat one when I was in Edinburgh. He nearly threw up and tried to get a refund

Posted by Lilith on Aug-22-2007 08:45:

Yep, when we went through Scotland a bit over a year ago the girly wanted to try one as well. I had visions of driving along in our rental with the interior slowly filling up with spew to about window level.
I've actually found a greasy spoon near where I live that deep fries them as well... needless to say, I will never reveal where it is.

With that much fat, oil, sugar and god knows what else it'd probably burn fairly well.

It could also go a ways to explain why you still have teeth and a rump which doesn't have it's own postcode that is targeted by Norwegian whalers in the area.

It's utterly monstrous, think anyone over the age of 55 within 20ft is liable to die of a heartattack simply by looking at it.

Always thought maple syrup was part of the quintessential Canadian diet though

I didn't say it was good for you, just good.

True! I think our love of maple syrup is so engrained that we don't even think about it.... thus I failed to mention it.
