+1. heard Crocodile in Sasha's EM, and i was happily amazed to see in the Tl it was an Underworld track that amazed me so much at the end of the set

Digweed opened with Crocodile at Avalon this past Saturday. Epic track, I was pretty much shouting the lyrics lol

The album has leaked into the wild...a good'un, at least measuring up to Beaucoup Fish: A return to form!

This album is seriously incredible, of course I am a bit biased since Underworld is my all-time favorite. The last track "Best Mamgu Ever" is one of the trippiest, best songs I've ever heard and is a perfect capper to this album. There are a couple spots with 2-3 minute fillers but all in all its easily an album where its unnecessary to skip through any tracks.

C'mon, those are the signature "Underworld vocals"...

There is a Huntermann Dub mix that has no vocals, you'll probably like that one more

God i love "To Heal", the most memorable cue from Sunshine, it brings me to tears. Sadly it's a very short track but i was pleasantly surprised to hear it on the album.

The album is good imo, i've listened to it once and i enjoyed every track. There is a chance i will like it even more when i've listened to it a few more times. Crocodile, Beautiful Burnout, To Heal and Boy, Boy, Boy are great tracks.

Leave it to a male DJ to be prejudiced towards DJs of the opposite sex.

Anyway, only heard Crocodile so far, which sounds like they've moved their sound in the same direction as techno has the last three years or so, but still retains that Underworld-feeling. Looking forward to hearing new material when I'm seeing them in Munich at the end of the month.

Let me guess, I missed some colloquialism or previous history that would put this into context?

I would never claim you "missed" anything (it would imply you actually cared), but in summary:

Mrs. Piemont = all-nite-freak = male.

That's pretty much what I meant about missing out on "previous history". Gracias for clearing that up.

The album is incredibly melancholical. Lots of sad, emotive melodies and the vocals are usually very strong too.

Powerful release all in all, there aren't tracks I would skip. Loved 'Beautiful Burnout', a bit different from the other stuff on there.

Beautiful Burnout is just fantastic. And the rest of the album isn't too shabby either... and I don't even usually like Underworld all that much.

Hoping to grab a copy of this soon - really happy and excited to see all the positive reviews.

Posted by GoSpeedGo! on Oct-04-2007 12:34:

Right, so 'Ring Road' is another favourite of mine.

Really looking forward to seeing them on the 27th of this month.

Been forcing myself to not download it and wait 'til my copy is mailed to me. I was at the Denver show so they gave it to us for free because of the venue hassle.

Interesting sidenote, Larry Mullen from U2 is responsible for the drums on Boy, Boy, Boy.

Interesting indeed, Larry Jr.

'Beautiful Burnout' is an amazing track.

'To Heal' is probably my favorite one, it's that memorable track from the movie Sunshine. Too bad it's only 2:36 long.

Sound like "neo trance" to you? IMO Crocodile does, with a touch of their old school sound.

The synth arpeggios are quite trancey, yes, but solely based on that I wouldn't label any track 'neo-trance'.
