It's what fucking losers do, and it's how fucking losers behave, and it makes this board look like it's full of retards. Why don't you try to practice a little discretion?

The only thing I can attribute this too is the massive amount of noobs who don't know any better. It's an un-ending cycle, which unfortunatley sooommmmme people never grow out of. It's a stigma associated with the EDM scene, but I feel your pain Jenny, just gotta put yourself above it.

Put myself above it? No fucking way. We should berate these noobs for their stupidity, and give them some incentive not to act like scuzzbags. Fuck PLUR, we need more exclusivity and judgementalism. We've let too many losers into our circle.

What circle are you talking about???? I certainly don't consider myself a part of any circle
Why do you think the EDM scene has grown so big in the past 10 years? Because it accepts anyone and everyone, with no judgment. Although I do agree, times have changed!

Partying. Serious business.

I'm not talking about partying. I'm talking about the losers that party who make it their business to be sketchy.

Nothing wrong with drug use or whatever, but fuck off if you can't be an adult about it and maintain some level of composure, and be somewhat discreet about your use.

But I'm mostly talking about the idiots on this board who talk about being sketchy like they won the fucking spelling bee.

Most people use this site as sheerly a means to obtaining information about electronic music in this city and abroad and not a way to join an exclusive 'cult' of friends.

As for the lack of social etiquette that occurs in the parties that you and I frequent, just get used to it because and it isn't going away and people aren't going to stop talking about it, sorry. I'm not saying that I promote that king of behaviour, I actually hate it, but it's going to happen. If you dislike it so much then try your best to ignore it or get into another scene.

BTW judgementalism is not a word. You mean criticism and, trust me, you already provide enough of that.

No, it's definitely passing judgement. I do it all the time, and it's what helps me to surround myself with the kind of people I want in my life. Thanks though.

So you judge people by what they post on these walls?

(PS good job in getting inb4edit)

Yeah I do. So? Think I'm supposed to be apologetic about that? Because I'm not.

Posted by Moral Hazard on Aug-27-2007 19:41:

Of course she judges people by what they post.... everyone does. Whether that judgement is accurate or not can be debatable, however, we all judge people, we do it every time we interact with another person, no matter what medium we use to interact. Judgement is necessary when living in any type of social environment.

Hey, being apologetic about anything is up to you. I definitely didn't mean imply that.

I guess we just have completely different views on this point because from a young age I was taught that you cannot accurately judge another until you have lived their life for 3 months.

Obviously I wouldn't go to that extreme, but I definably give people sufficient time to display their character before judging it.

But I think that we can both agree that people should take time to express their thoughts more clearly about worthwhile topics, such as this one, on these threads rather than posting a shit load of nonsensical ones.

Yes, judgment on a certain level. But, would you say that you would use a post on an internet forum as a factor on decided on whether you would consider being that person's friend if you haven't even met them yet?

i agree that some people are a bit irrational when it comes to judging people from what they say online... i'm sure we can all think of people who are good friends and decent human beings, who would come across as complete tools if you only knew them online

Hell yes I would. Of course I don't want to be friends with the person who's getting high every weekend and blabbing about it on a message board. I don't give a shit how nice or kind hearted they are.

I live a certain kind of life, and have certain expectations of myself, and I have near the same expectations of the people I want in my life. Birds of a feather flock together.
