Specifically, I used Dirk's Technics SL-DZ1200's, which are beautiful pieces of equipment btw, seriously, they did it right. However you have much more accurate control with the platter on a CDJ800, as nudging it doesn't require the use of the right amount of friction or pushing force, but instead simply rotating the platter a certain amount. Also, what is essentially adjustable virtual torque, is great to have too, especially when you can set it to be infinite (i.e. zero lag when you release the platter/track during cuing). Yeah, the platter is light, but it gives you a different kind of control which is more accurate and predictable by design. I used some Denons with rotating platters once upon a time... they were really nice decks but I didn't like the platters much. I guess I may have been able to because accustomed to the Denons in time or something... the Technics platters were much nicer though. Oh, and the higher end Denon's cd decks typically have some cool features...

i use the cdj200s they are pretty rad. u can have accuracy down to 0.02% and they have the standard three effects onboard. only thing is the pitch fader is pretty small so its hard to pinpoint on there at times also they arent really built very strong its all weak plastic so take care when transporting them

if I didn't already have the vastly superior A&H Xone:62 I might be interested. sadly, I already DO have a better mixer and just want some CDJ's.

why'd you get a new copy of the same mixer unless there was something wrong with the old one anyway? also, what does "really cheap" mean, and are you open to the idea of a trade (e.g. I have a laptop I don't really use)

good point, out of the four channels one of the bass levels are screwed , and one of the nobs are missing.my boy just bouoght the same mixer u got. wicked. and he basically is giving me his old one for a small token, that works perfect.its a good start up mixer i think cause i was still mixing with it.i was thinking of trying to sell both for like five bills on ebay. abelton and djm 800.check out dj deals.com. thats where i bought my cdj's from.
