ALLEZ JUSTINE!! JUSTINE GAGNE! JUSTINE GAGNE!!!!

JUSTINE WINS! JUSTINE WINS!!

I was watching the Henin (1) vs Williams (12) match earlier, but had to leave part way through the first set, while it was 5-5.

How did a 5"5' Henin hold of a monster like Venus? Too bad, as I will always cheer for Venus.

Because thats how INCREDIBLY GOOD Justine is. Her small frame and short height size only help further PROVE the extraordinary skill she possesses!

Just wow. She took them both out, BACK TO BACK! WOW.

I have NO RESPECT for Serena, but a lot for Venus. (though I sholdnt say that until I see the post match conference...

fucking Serena.

PFT! SHe had the bloody NERVE to say justine was "LUCKY" when she beat her in the quarters! "LuckY" !>!!>>!>!??!?!

are u fucking shitting me? SERENA ur a the fucking WORST spoiledsport ive ever seen. The worst's #1 for how many running months now... for a total of HOW MANY months now in all... beats YOU... and u have the balls and never and audacity to fucking say she was Lucky?!? MY ASS. Jesus christ.

You can NEVER give praise (nor could venus till ecently though, but shes never been worse than serena) and its never ur opponents skill that lets them win, but how u sucked at something.

WEAK. WEAKSAUCE!

yeah I was really happy Justine beat both of the Williams.. only saw about half the match though! (I didn't realize Hingis was the only player ever to do that previously - australia 2001)
Looking forward to a chill evening of tennis

After Euro 2008 qualifiers, will be tuning into Federer, then women's final

Posted by Jem_hadar on Sep-08-2007 17:45:

^^ Disgrace Vrk...

TENNIS FIRST! FED FIRST. ALWAYS. Period.

(well, true, ok he's not on yet... but what if he was... would u STILL pick soccer.. oh im sorry, football? )

I think this men's final is gonna be a classic. Federer is gonna have his hands full.

What happened to Serena? She looks mega butch now (which says a lot considering it's the women's tour ). Venus is the cool one, and as for Henin, incredible skills.. esp the backhand. She could certainly beat the male tennis players of the 70s, imo.

Classic? You're nuts. Federer might give up a set at most, but I'd say there is about a 5% chance Djokovic makes anything close to a match out of this. He played mediocore vs. a horrible looking Ferrer and Federer has only looked 'shaky' for 2 sets the whole tournament.

The only thing going for the Serb is the potential weather situation (getting more time to prepare, I guess), Federer having the worst day of his life or Federer getting injured.

Who would win a tennis match between Dave the Drummer and Felix Krocher?

Federer up two sets but both in tiebreak decisions that could have gone the other way. Tough match but Fed's serving awesome today, looks like an assassin with the deep set eyes and all black attire

FEDERER WINS!!! FUCKING 12TH GRAND SLAM! FUCKING 4TH US OPEN IN A ROW.

FUCKING 2.4 MILLION U.S. DOLLARS!!!!!

Him and Tiger have a nice friendly rivalry going.. Tiger won too today.

Any of you see this hilarious Fedex commercial in between the tennis? (thread worthy, imo)

Fair enough. Assuming Djokovic won even one of those sets, I couldn't see him winning today. He had a bit of a by pass vs. Ferrer as clearly he would have lost to a top club player, but beyond that, his ranking is a little bit misleading. His consistency throughout a set is like watching 2 kids going crazy on a see-saw in a park; it just so happens that 80% of the other players on tour have the same disease.

Posted by Spin Laden on Sep-09-2007 23:38:

he showed his age today.. very promising player at 20 but then I've seen so many player play well so early (Chang, Becker, Seles, Roddick, Courier, Hingis, etc) and then just tail off later on in their careers.

Man... I miss the tennis already
