Mike Judge's film Idiocracy...one of the funniest pieces I've seen in a long time.

Had box office problems because of release issues

Actually it didnt come out at all near the Matrix. The original Matrix hit theaters in March 99, and Reloaded hit in May 03. Equilibrium went wide in Dec. 02, and due to lack of advertising, wasnt really known amongst the general public. But, it did become a cult fav. once it hit rental stores.

quit being such a walking contradiction ! i didn't mean what i said, i actually meant to imply exactly the opposite of what i said... you should be able to understand that (thru TEXT)!

I read that as "wanking contradiction" and it was awesome.

It's becoming less and less awesome as I realize that I, in fact, have a serious reading comprehension problem.

But yeah, Jenny is a wanking contradiction. Simple as that.

City of God. What a masterpiece, I haven't seen a better movie to this day. They should've promoted it more, the theater and DVD release had almost zero media exposure.

the royal tenenbaums

i think i was the only person to actually like that movie.

i actually thought it was pretty mainstream. only fools that didnt understand it think its all cult or arthouse.

its funny, clever with an interesting topic of time travel. whats not to like?

was there a director's cut?
I thought the version in theaters was EXTREMELY boring and poorly directed (which already looked more in the hands of the $tudio than director, ala, Superman II)

I dont think so. Ill level with you and agree that there are parts that are slow, and other parts that are poorly put together. You can tell that Kurt Wimmer (director) has some work to do on his technique. That being said, the reason I respect the movie so much is because of how cool it was despite the fact that the movie had a VERY low budget. The action sequences were pretty badass if you ask me.

And Christian Bale is fucking ace as well.

Gattaca for sure

I can remember Apocalypto not being on the cinema long, I heard this was due to they wanted to make a killing on the DVD sales..

I really enjoyed Equilibrium, I just found the whole Matrix series far to over the top for the sake of being over the top. I think the primary thing a film has to have is an interesting story and one which you can enjoy and follow. I don't think the sequels to Matrix had any kind of story,
I also thought Equilibriums fight scenes were better to.
